On May 9, 2024, amidst the celebrations of the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory and the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Buddhist Association in Dien Bien province, Saigon - Hanoi Bank (SHB) donated two classroom buildings to ethnic minority boarding primary schools in the province.

Ms. Ngo Thu Ha, General Director of SHB, presented two classroom projects at ethnic boarding primary schools in Sin Chai and Phinh Giang communes, Dien Bien province.

With the desire to contribute to the cause of education, providing ethnic minority children and teachers in the province with modern and well-equipped facilities, thereby helping them have the best conditions to study and contribute to their homeland and country, SHB has sponsored the construction of 8 classrooms at the Ethnic Minority Boarding Primary School in Sin Chai commune, Tua Chua district, and 10 classrooms at the Ethnic Minority Boarding Primary School in Phinh Giang commune, Dien Bien Dong district, Dien Bien province, with a total construction value of 11 billion VND. The two projects commenced in early 2024 in Phinh Giang and Sin Chai communes – two remote and disadvantaged communes in Dien Bien province with underdeveloped transportation infrastructure and difficult access. Despite facing many difficulties, SHB has closely monitored and urged progress to ensure that the two classroom projects are completed before the start of the new school year. The construction projects at the two ethnic minority boarding high schools affirm SHB's commitment to social welfare activities, especially in the field of education and human development. Caring for education is not only the responsibility of the school but of the entire society. As an economic organization, SHB always accompanies and supports educational activities, contributing to the development of the country's future generation and the sustainable development of the nation. Sponsoring the construction of ethnic minority boarding high schools in remote and disadvantaged areas is a significant activity, meeting the learning needs of over 1,100 students in communes and wards of Dien Bien province, while also contributing to socio-economic development and ensuring security and safety in the northern border provinces. In the coming time, SHB will continue to expand the program to rural areas, remote areas, and localities facing many difficulties, helping more generations of Vietnamese students have the opportunity to study in a modern environment with spacious facilities, improving the quality of education. Throughout its more than 30 years of establishment and development, SHB has accompanied many generations of Vietnamese students through various programs, sponsoring competitions, and building school facilities. The bank has helped young people overcome difficulties and realize their dreams of going to school with hundreds of thousands of scholarships and meaningful gifts on the occasion of the opening and closing of the school year; participating in major programs specifically for the younger generation such as: "Wave and Computers for Children," "Spring for Children," developing young talents at SOS villages through the Young Leader project; donating bicycles to poor students who overcome difficulties, building schools in Cao Bang, Can Tho… with a budget of tens of billions of VND. SHB's practical actions demonstrate a strong commitment to accompanying society, developing education, nurturing talent, and improving the quality of human resources for the country. Continuing a tradition of over three decades, SHB remains steadfast in its overarching orientation of "people as the main actors" and its commitment to social responsibility. Originating from the heart, SHB always accompanies, creates, and spreads positive values to the Vietnamese people. Previously, on May 5, 2024, in Dien Bien province, on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the historic Dien Bien Phu victory, within the framework of the 2024 Dien Bien Phu Cycling Race organized by the People's Army Newspaper, SHB presented 125 gifts worth a total of 250 million VND to express gratitude to veterans who directly participated in the Dien Bien Phu campaign.
