The final match of the 2023 Women's World Cup Round of 16 ended with an overwhelming 4-0 victory for France against Morocco.
In their first World Cup appearance, the Moroccan women's team caused a big surprise when they qualified for the group stage. Fans from Africa expected the Moroccan girls to continue writing the fairy tale, but their opponents - the French team - had superior strength.
Predictions of a tight match did not come true, as the outcome of the match was almost decided after just over 20 minutes, when the French team scored 3 goals in just 8 minutes (15', 20', 23') thanks to Diani, Dali and Sommer.

In the second half, the Moroccan women's team tried to push up their formation to find a goal but failed. They even conceded another goal when Sommer scored in the 70th minute to complete the double, ending the 4-0 victory for coach Hervé Renard's team.
With this victory, the French women's team has qualified for the quarter-finals of the Women's World Cup for the fourth consecutive time. This is the match with the biggest difference in the round of 16. With this result, the French women's team will face host Australia in the quarter-finals.
