BTO- Binh Thuan Irrigation Works Exploitation Company Limited has just informed about the expected regulation of water through the spillway of Long Song reservoir (Tuy Phong) at 2:00 p.m. this afternoon (September 2), regulating with a flow rate of 5m3/s; after 5:00 p.m. the same day, depending on the flow to the reservoir and the downstream situation, the flow rate will increase from 20 - 150 m3/s to maintain the flood prevention capacity of the project.
Therefore, to avoid property damage to people in affected areas, the Company requests the People's Committee of Tuy Phong district to promptly notify people along the flood discharge route of Long Song lake and river mouth, so that they can proactively have a plan to prevent safety.
Previously, in the past few days, the upstream area of Long Song Lake had heavy rain. As of 7:00 a.m. on September 2, the water level of Long Song Lake was at +75.71 m, 1.2 m above the normal water level and continued to rise. In addition, Phan Dung Lake has been regulating water through the spillway to Long Song Lake since 7:00 a.m. on September 2 with the current regulated flow reaching 19.53 m3/s. According to the forecast of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, in the coming days, there will continue to be rain in the province. Therefore, regulating water through the spillway of Long Song Lake is to maintain the flood prevention capacity of the project.
Regarding the reservoir situation, Da Nhim - Ham Thuan - Da Mi Hydropower Joint Stock Company has just announced that at 6:00 a.m. this morning (September 2), the water level of Ham Thuan reservoir reached 602.22 m, the water flow to the reservoir was 204.03 m3/s. It is expected that the water level of Ham Thuan reservoir will reach the highest water level before the flood of 602.5 m on September 2. Therefore, the Company will proceed to regulate the discharge of water through Ham Thuan spillway with a discharge flow of 25 m3/s - 50 m3/s and can be adjusted to increase depending on the hydrometeorological situation of the reservoir. The discharge time starts from 8:00 a.m. on September 3.
