Nam Lau commune evacuated 13 households in areas at risk of rockfall and landslides.

According to the report of Nam Lau Commune People's Committee, at 5:25 p.m. on July 27 and 4:30 a.m. on July 28, two large explosions occurred in Tang village, Nam Lau commune. At 7:30 p.m. on July 28, another large explosion and falling rocks occurred for the third time.

The location of the explosion and the residential area are within the risk of falling rocks.

Immediately after receiving the information, the People's Committee of the commune and the functional forces went to inspect the scene and recorded that in the area where the big explosion occurred, there were cracks about 30m long and 10cm wide, along with many rocks that had separated and rolled down to the coffee plantations of households. The area is located at a high position, with a large slope, the soil shows signs of being saturated with water and above are rocks that were separated after the explosion, posing a potential danger of rolling rocks. The area below is a cluster of villages with 13 households and 67 people living there, posing a danger to people's lives and property.

Immediately after the incident, the People's Committee of Nam Lau commune urgently established working groups to go to the field to inspect and verify the damage and mobilize local forces to support households in moving their assets to a safe place, and at the same time, issued emergency evacuation decisions.

In the landslide area of ​​Tang village, the People's Committee of the commune organized propaganda and mobilized households in the temporary slide area to move people and property to a safe place. They put up danger warning signs, assigned forces to be on duty 24/7 to monitor the weather situation and asked households not to live or sleep in areas at risk of landslides, especially when it rains, to absolutely ensure the lives and property of the people.
