In recent years, instead of drying their rice themselves after harvest before using or selling it, many households in the Vu Le Agricultural Production and Service Cooperative have changed their mindset. Farmers now sell their rice directly in the fields at a higher price than the market, saving on drying costs and production expenses. To contribute to a breakthrough in the local agricultural sector, the cooperative has collaborated with villages to zone production areas, develop large-scale fields, and introduce high-quality rice varieties and economically valuable vegetable crops. Annually, the cooperative maintains a production linkage for commercial rice and guarantees the purchase of products from farmers on an area of approximately 80 hectares, selling over 100 tons of fresh rice at prices ranging from 6,800 to 8,500 VND/kg, achieving an economic efficiency 20-25% higher than conventional production. In 2025 alone, the cooperative linked its rice production with An Dinh Co., Ltd., purchasing a total of 90 tons of paddy rice during the harvest season at a selling price of 7,700 VND/kg. In addition, the cooperative promoted and encouraged people to build an OCOP (One Commune One Product) brand for its dried radish product, which has already received certification. The product sells for 150,000 - 200,000 VND/kg, with an average yield of 1.6 - 1.7 tons/sao (1 sao = 360 square meters), generating an income of approximately 6 million VND/sao. The cooperative encouraged people to actively diversify their crops, introducing high-value crops such as potatoes, red peanuts, and cucumbers, each sao yielding an income of 3-5 million VND, significantly higher than rice cultivation.
To boost economic development, in recent years, Quang Lich commune has focused on developing all three sectors evenly: agriculture , industry - handicrafts, and trade and services. Agriculture stands out with the promotion of land consolidation and the linking of production with the consumption of agricultural products for the people. Along with agricultural development, the commune always pays attention to creating favorable conditions for the development of industry, handicrafts, and trade and services. The locality focuses on maintaining and developing traditional crafts, actively resolving difficulties and obstacles for businesses and production and trading establishments to create a favorable environment to attract investment and expand production. To date, the commune has 18 businesses and more than 2,000 production and business households, creating stable jobs for over 4,000 workers. Many auxiliary crafts such as sedge weaving and water hyacinth weaving continue to develop strongly, contributing to job creation and increasing income for people during the off-season. Typical examples include Quang Lich Import-Export Company, which exports its rush-woven chair cushions to foreign markets; and Duong Hien Handicraft Production Cooperative, which brought the craft of weaving water hyacinth to the locality, creating jobs for hundreds of workers. Thanks to the support and cooperation of the local authorities, An Hoa Construction and Transportation Company Limited has favorable conditions to expand its production and business. In addition to constructing buildings, the company has also invested in a factory producing paving bricks with an output of approximately 24,000 m² /year, creating jobs for nearly 10 workers; and has partnered in leather shoe production, providing employment for about 350 workers in and outside the commune with an average income of 8-10 million VND/person/month.
In 2026, Quang Lich commune aims for a 10.2% growth rate in production value; including over 257 billion VND in agricultural production, over 620 billion VND in industry and construction , and nearly 300 billion VND in trade and services; per capita income reaching over 67 million VND/year, and the poverty rate reduced to 1.15%. To achieve these goals, according to Mr. Luong Van Dinh, Vice Chairman of the Commune People's Committee: The locality will continue to mobilize and effectively utilize resources for economic development; promote administrative reform, develop digital government and digital economy, creating a favorable environment for businesses and people to expand investment in production and business. In the agricultural sector, the commune will continue to direct cooperatives to effectively implement the crop production plan; promote the transformation of crop structure, consolidate land to form concentrated commodity production areas linked to product consumption. The locality encourages the development of high-tech agriculture and the expansion of organic production. For the industrial and handicraft sectors, the locality continues to focus on supporting businesses and production facilities to expand their scale, innovate technology, improve product quality, and enhance market competitiveness. Emphasis is placed on maintaining and developing traditional crafts; and encouraging the development of industries suitable to local conditions. Strengthening connections and attracting businesses to invest in the area, developing production and processing linkage models, will contribute to increasing the value of industrial and handicraft production and the income of the people.
