The commune organized 4 working groups to visit and present gifts to policy families and meritorious people in the area. The groups directly visited and encouraged wounded soldiers and meritorious people in difficult circumstances in the villages, especially the Hanoi Center for Nurturing and Nursing Meritorious People No. 2, which is taking care of 40 people, of which 18 people need full service. Here, the commune leaders presented gifts worth 5.5 million VND, expressing their deep feelings and gratitude to those who have contributed to the country.
At the places visited, the commune leaders kindly asked about health and life, listened to their thoughts, and affirmed: The Party Committee, government and people of Van Dinh commune always remember the great contributions of heroic martyrs, wounded soldiers, sick soldiers, and people with meritorious services in the cause of fighting for national independence and building the country; requested the Party cells, residential groups, and organizations to continue to pay attention and take good care of policy families, contributing to the good work of "Repaying gratitude".
On this occasion, Van Dinh commune has taken from the "Repaying gratitude" Fund and mobilized social resources to present 60 gifts worth 1.3 million VND/gift and 1,022 gifts, each worth 100,000 VND, with a total cost of nearly 186 million VND to policy beneficiaries.
In addition, Van Dinh commune also promotes long-term support activities for people in difficult circumstances. The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune presented a "Great Unity House" to Ms. Nguyen Thi Ut in Tu Duong village, a spacious shelter that will be a support to help her stabilize her life. At the same time, the Women's Union of the commune handed over a "Shelter of Love" to Ms. Le Thi Lan in Nguyen Xa village, 43m² built in more than 3 months, with a total cost of more than 165 million VND.
At the house handover ceremony, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Commune Party Committee Nguyen Thi Thuy Ha emphasized: "This is not only a social security activity but also a symbol of the spirit of great national unity, demonstrating the deep concern of the Party Committee, government and people of Van Dinh commune for those in difficult lives."
In addition, the Commune Fatherland Front Committee also organized the installation of a signboard for the project "Blooming Road" in Nguyen Xa village - a model that contributes to beautifying the landscape and building a new, bright, green, clean and beautiful countryside.
Previously, at the Thanh Vat village health station, the People's Committee of Van Dinh commune coordinated to organize a program to examine, provide health consultation, provide medicine and give free gifts to families with preferential treatment, Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, wounded soldiers and relatives of martyrs. Nearly 70 beneficiaries of preferential treatment received general examinations, blood pressure measurements, ultrasounds and medicine distribution on the spot.
According to the plan, from July 22 to 25, the program will be widely deployed in the villages: Nghi Loc, Tu Duong, Tao Khe, Van Dinh, Duong Khe... with an expected examination for more than 500 people. This is a practical activity showing concern for the health of people with meritorious services, contributing to taking care of the material and spiritual life of policy families.
One of the important activities is the Incense Offering and Candle Lighting Ceremony to pay tribute to heroic martyrs, which will take place on the evenings of July 25 and 26, 2025 at 6 martyr cemeteries in the old communes (Phuong Tu, Van Dinh town, Tao Duong Van, Dong Tien, Son Cong, Cao Thanh). The ceremony will be attended by a large number of cadres, union members, students, armed forces and people. In addition to the main ceremony, the program also includes memorial performances, visits to the families of martyrs, Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, etc.
The activities to celebrate the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day in Van Dinh commune are not only an opportunity to demonstrate the morality of "Remembering the person who planted the tree when eating the fruit", but also demonstrate the solidarity and humanity of the whole society.
