Club World Cup Round of 16, "Death" bracket revealed
The Club World Cup group stage ended on June 27 with many surprises, in which all four Brazilian clubs participating in the tournament, including Fluminense, Flamengo, Palmeiras and Botafogo, advanced to the round of 16. CONCACAF also had two teams advancing, Inter Miami and Monterrey. Asia, with Al Hilal Club from Saudi Arabia, was the only representative to advance from the group stage, while three other representatives from Japan (Urawa Red Diamonds), UAE (Al Ain) and South Korea (Ulsan HD) all said goodbye early.

In the round of 16, the number of clubs from Europe still accounts for the most (9 teams), although there are also 3 clubs that have said goodbye early: Porto, Atletico Madrid and RB Salzburg. Other regions such as Africa and Oceania are all empty of representatives.
Similarly, two giant clubs from Argentina, River Plate and Boca Juniors, also left. The early departure of the two Argentine teams caused the Argentine Football Association (AFA) to receive fierce criticism from fans and many sides.
The Club World Cup Round of 16 will see an interesting match between two Brazilian clubs, Palmeiras and Botafogo, at 11pm on June 28, with one team advancing to meet the winner of Benfica vs Chelsea at 3am on June 29. In the same bracket, on the opposite side, Italian representative Inter Milan will meet Fluminense (Brazil) at 2am on July 1, and the winner will meet the winner of Man City vs Al Hilal (8am on July 1) in the quarter-finals.
Meanwhile, the "death" bracket has been revealed when the host country's representative, Inter Miami of famous player Messi, will face the European Champions League champion, PSG, at 11pm on June 29. The winner of this match will advance to the quarterfinals and will face Bayern Munich or Flamengo (Brazil) at 3am on June 30.

In the same "death" bracket, Real Madrid will face Juventus at 2am on July 2nd. The winner will meet Borussia Dortmund or Monterrey of Mexico at 8am on July 2nd in the quarter-finals. All matches are Vietnam time. The Club World Cup quarter-finals will take place on July 5th and 6th.
With two brackets decided, the Club World Cup semi-finals are expected to see Chelsea meet Man City or Inter Milan; while Real Madrid could meet PSG or Bayern Munich.
Messi's Inter Miami is considered to have no chance in the "death" bracket, when they face PSG in the round of 16, if they continue they could meet Bayern Munich in the quarterfinals, and Real Madrid in the semi-finals. This is considered unthinkable, considering Inter Miami's internal strength only relies on players who are on the other side of the slope like Messi and Suarez.
