BBC pointed out that Man City earned around £37.8 million, becoming the team with the highest prize money since the beginning of the tournament. This amount of money is thanks to the Etihad team's perfect record in the group stage.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are said to have pocketed £33.8m. The Blues suffered a group stage defeat to Flamengo, which cost them nearly £1.5m in prize money.
From the round of 16 onwards, the prize money for each team will be the same if they progress further. Both Man City and Chelsea will be able to collect an additional £9.6m if they win the round of 16. If they can continue further in the tournament, the prize money will increase significantly.
The money raised at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup™ will also help Man City and Chelsea cover the transfer fees they have to pay for new players this summer. The Blues immediately recouped their investment after spending £30 million to bring in Liam Delap from Ipswich Town.

If they continue to advance in the tournament, "The Blues" can completely cover the remaining amount of money spent on young talent Estevao Willian from Palmeiras (about 29 million pounds).

In the round of 16, Chelsea will face Benfica in the early morning of June 29, while Man City will meet Al Hilal on July 1.
