On the morning of July 30, Politburo member, Secretary of the Government Party Committee, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended and delivered a speech at the 12th Congress, term 2025-2030, of the Vietnam Television Party Committee.
Also attending were Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh; Minister of Science and Technology Nguyen Manh Hung; leaders of central ministries and branches.
With the theme "Joining hands, unanimity, innovation, steadfastness, loyalty; promoting comprehensive leadership, building a clean and strong Party organization, for the sustainable development of Vietnam Television", the Congress summarized the implementation of the resolution of the Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term; determining the direction, goals, tasks, and solutions for the 2025-2030 term.
The Congress assessed that in the past term, Vietnam Television had synchronously implemented many key tasks with breakthrough solutions and achieved important results in all areas of work.
The station has restructured its television channel system, thereby affirming its role as a key, official press agency in orienting public opinion, especially at important political and social times and events of the country.
The multi-platform content production, broadcasting and distribution system continues to be improved, in which the VTVGo digital platform is developed to become a key infrastructure, gradually expanding domestic and international coverage.
The station has twice organized a review and assessment to rearrange the internal organizational structure, thereby reducing 17 department-level units and 104 department-level offices. It is considered a unit that has seriously implemented and achieved high results in streamlining the organizational structure.
The unit has researched, developed and issued many important projects on planning and developing activities such as the projects: Building the Station to become a key, multimedia media agency; National foreign television service for the period 2025-2030; Building infrastructure for production and distribution of digital content of the Station; Planning and overall model for the technical infrastructure system serving production, broadcasting, distribution and storage; Developing a Decree regulating the financial mechanism of the Station.
The Party Committee of the Station has issued and effectively implemented 4 thematic resolutions, focusing on key tasks such as improving leadership capacity, perfecting the organizational apparatus, promoting digital transformation, strengthening supervision and restructuring affiliated enterprises.
These thematic resolutions have had clear effects, creating positive changes in Party work and professional work.
The Party Committee of the Unified Radio Station, term 2025-2030, continues to improve the quality of Party building work; maintain its position as the leading national media agency, build the Station into a prestigious, influential, multi-platform, multi-media leading media agency in the region and internationally.
The unit continues to comprehensively transform digitally, modernize communication technology, apply digital in content production and distribution; innovate content, increase production of programs imbued with Vietnamese cultural identity and people; develop high-quality human resources; innovate financial work, expand and diversify revenue sources; promote international cooperation...
With firm belief in the leadership of the Party Committee of Vietnam Television, along with the spirit of solidarity, courage and intelligence, the collective of cadres and party members of the Station are determined to join hands, be united, creative and innovative to build a unit with comprehensive and sustainable development, contributing to the construction of a strong and prosperous Vietnam in the new era.
The Congress elected the 12th Party Executive Committee for the 2025-2030 term, consisting of 27 comrades.
Congratulating the success of the Vietnam Television Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that the Congress was held on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of Vietnam Television accompanying the country, with great pride, but there is also much to do to join the whole country in creating a new posture, new spirit, new motivation and new victories. Since the beginning of the term, the country has experienced many unprecedented difficulties and challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic, extreme climate change, conflicts in regions around the world, and increasing strategic competition, but the station has renewed its thinking, acted decisively and achieved important results, contributing to the overall achievements of the whole country so that "our country has never had the foundation, potential, position and international prestige like today."
“Vietnam Television has performed well its role as a bridge between the Party, the State and the people; a tool for social interaction; and carried out its mission of motivating and inspiring the entire nation and country, especially in difficult and challenging times as well as in times of many opportunities and advantages,” the Prime Minister affirmed.
Wishing Vietnam Television to continue to perform better in its strategic advisory work for the Party and State; maintain solidarity and unity; innovate and be creative to adapt to current conditions, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested the station to develop into a prestigious television station in the region and the world; the station's information must be timely, fast, accurate, analytical and evaluative; have modern equipment and smart management.
Directing that Vietnam Television must develop in accordance with the nation's historical and cultural traditions and world trends, with strategic goals consistent with the country's two 100-year strategic goals, the Prime Minister requested that Vietnam Television propose mechanisms and policies to implement strategic goals.
According to the Prime Minister, in nearly 40 years of renovation, the Vietnamese revolutionary press has always played a particularly important role in the country's socio-political life, and is an important weapon of the Party on the ideological front; journalists always imbue, engrave and follow the profound teachings of beloved President Ho Chi Minh: "The press is a front. Journalists are revolutionary soldiers. Pens and paper are their sharp weapons. Articles are the revolutionary calendar." The 13th Party Congress documents clearly defined the orientation: "Building a professional, humane and modern press and media."
The Prime Minister pointed out that Vietnam Television, as the key national media agency, needs to continue to pioneer and take the lead in information and propaganda, contributing to improving theoretical thinking capacity in society, firmly consolidating the Party's ideological foundation, arousing the desire to contribute in the entire nation, continuing to accompany the country's development process in the new development stage, especially in implementing historic strategies and policies.
In Party work, the Party Committee of the Radio Station must be imbued with the five principles and methods of Party leadership: democratic centralism; self-criticism and criticism; solidarity and unity within the Party, among the people, in society, the country and international solidarity; close attachment to the people; operating according to Party regulations and the Constitution and laws...
To continue promoting the role and position of the station in the new era of national development, the Prime Minister requested the Party Committee of Vietnam Television to focus on leadership, direction, and improving the leadership capacity and fighting strength of the Party organization and Party members; continue to affirm the mission and role of the national television station and the key multimedia media agency.
Especially in the current period, Vietnam Television needs to step up propaganda work on Party Congresses at all levels and the first Government Party Congress towards the 14th National Party Congress; celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2; thereby contributing to creating an exciting and consensual atmosphere in the whole society.
The station must strongly innovate its thinking, way of thinking, way of doing, taking innovation and creativity as the driving force for sustainable development, thoroughly grasping the motto of action: "Thinking truly, doing truly, real results, People enjoying truly"; continue to develop into a modern, multimedia media agency, leading in digital transformation, applying new technology, artificial intelligence, big data, cloud computing... in the production-broadcasting-distribution-interaction process, focusing on building a professional, modern national foreign television channel with regional and international stature.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested Vietnam Television to continue to organize and reorganize its apparatus scientifically, to be lean, compact, strong, efficient, effective, and efficient. The station needs to develop an action program to effectively implement the resolutions and conclusions of the Central Committee, with “high determination, great efforts, drastic actions, focus, and key points; do each task and finish it,” assigning “clear people, clear tasks, clear responsibilities, clear authority, clear time, and clear results.”
The Prime Minister affirmed that our Party, State and people always place their steadfast trust and hope in the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press, including Vietnam Television, which is a pioneer and exemplary model, constantly learning, improving qualifications, training steadfast political will, noble qualities, sharp expertise with the spirit of "bright eyes, pure heart, sharp pen" and "steel in the pen, fire in the heart" to continuously develop strongly, successfully completing its noble humanitarian mission.
The Prime Minister believes that the 12th Congress of the Party Committee of Vietnam Television will be an important milestone, clearly demonstrating the spirit of solidarity, democracy, responsibility, creativity and development, from each cadre, party member, each affiliated party cell to the entire Party Committee of Vietnam Television, "unanimously united from top to bottom, throughout the entire Party Committee," turning the spirit of solidarity into a great internal resource, a solid foundation for development in the new development stage of the country./.
