Many services in Tuyen Lam Lake National Tourist Area used to be very attractive to tourists, but have not been exploited to their full potential.

Infrastructure not completed as planned

Tuyen Lam Lake National Tourist Area was deployed since 2004, with 39 investment projects, with a total area of nearly 3,000 hectares, of which the water surface accounts for about 10%; recognized as a National Tourist Area in 2017. Up to now, the infrastructure investment capital from the budget is 870 billion VND. According to the summary report on the implementation results of Inspection Conclusion No. 929/KL-TTCP dated June 12, 2020 submitted by Lam Dong Provincial Inspectorate to the Provincial People's Committee in May 2024, it is said that the technical infrastructure is slow, the traffic, lighting, and wastewater systems have not been completed according to the plan.

In particular, the lighting system on the nearly 10 km long Hoa Hong route (from Bao Dai waterfall to the clay tunnel), which has been in operation since 2018, by early 2025, due to equipment degradation and vandalism, many light bulbs were burned out, many lamp posts were physically damaged, the underground power line system was damaged... causing local power outages. In addition, the internal road network around Tuyen Lam Lake (walking paths, lakeside roads connecting the entire area) is not yet complete, many sub-branches are currently only used for construction transportation, not forming a closed, continuous road as planned.

Before 2020, service activities on the water surface of Tuyen Lam Lake, such as yachting, pedal boating... were legally implemented through cooperatives, signed water surface lease contracts from the Provincial Irrigation Management Center, and fully paid the budget... Since 2020, when the Tuyen Lam Lake National Tourism Area Management Board took over water surface management, the previous contract was liquidated by the owner, so all service activities without a new legal contract have become illegal, despite having been maintained for many years of operation.

On April 17, 2024, Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee issued a document requesting to stop all services on the water surface before April 25, 2024, with the reason that the project to exploit irrigation infrastructure assets has not been approved yet, so there is no basis to organize an auction of water surface lease rights.

Desire to be worthy

Tuyen Lam Lake National Tourist Area has 39 projects that have been granted investment certificates; but only 15 projects have been put into operation (of which, 6 projects have been put into full operation and 9 projects have been put into partial operation). On average, each year Tuyen Lam Lake National Tourist Area attracts more than 2 million tourists, creating jobs for about 1,200 workers, contributing to the socio -economic efficiency of the locality.

However, the technical infrastructure issues in Tuyen Lam Lake National Tourist Area have been mentioned many times and are not unique to Mai Co Da Lat Company Limited. Tuyen Lam Lake National Tourist Area Management Board has explained and responded to the business's recommendations on each specific content and the plan to overcome them.

Regarding the recommendation that the road system is degraded and unsafe for traffic, it is because the road system in the tourist area has been built for nearly 20 years, so technical problems often arise, although the Management Board still carries out maintenance and repair work every year to promptly fix arising problems. It is expected that before August 2025, the Management Board will review and carry out maintenance and repair work on the road system in the tourist area.

Regarding the proposal that the street lighting system is not working, the Tuyen Lam Lake National Tourist Area Management Board is coordinating with Da Lat Electricity to survey the right branch power line (Hoa Hong Street) and some local power outage locations to fix it in the direction of socialization to have electricity to serve businesses in the summer of 2025. At the same time, the Management Board is coordinating with the consulting unit (Yen Son Company Limited) to survey the overall lighting system in the National Tourist Area from public investment capital, the medium-term plan for the period 2025 - 2026.

Regarding the proposal that business and service activities on the lake are not yet allowed, after the approval of the technical design - estimate of the surveying and mapping tasks to serve the detailed construction planning project at a scale of 1/500 for public parks and services on the water surface of Tuyen Lam Lake, the Management Board will carry out the bidding procedures to select a consulting unit to prepare the detailed planning project according to current regulations...
