Building Kim Tan ward "Bright, green, clean, beautiful"

Aiming to build Kim Tan ward to meet urban civilized standards by the end of 2024, cadres, party members and people in the ward have actively joined hands to build a "bright, green, clean and beautiful" ward.

Nguyen Du 2 residential area, Kim Tan ward includes 2 residential groups 23, 24 with 200 households on 7 streets with bustling business and trading services. Over the years, along with State resources, people have actively socialized to renovate sidewalks and beautify streets. Currently, in the residential area, 5/7 streets, including: An Duong Vuong, Nguyen Du, Soi Tien, Ly Nam De, Cao Lo have been renovated, replacing sidewalk tiles with natural stone and installing decorative lights on part of the streets and neighborhoods.

Particularly on Nguyen Du Street, in addition to paving the sidewalks, residents also invested in installing a synchronous decorative lighting system with a total value of nearly 200 million VND. The renovation of the landscape and sidewalks of the neighborhood received high consensus and agreement from residents. For many years, the neighborhood has maintained good cleaning of the streets once a week. In addition to sorting waste and placing waste in the right place, some households also buy specialized trash cans to ensure environmental sanitation and urban beauty.

Ms. Pham Thi Lieu, Secretary of the Party Cell of Nguyen Du 2 Residential Area, said: The residential area pays special attention to propagating and mobilizing households and business owners to strictly comply with regulations on urban order management, especially not encroaching on sidewalks for business and trading, and not parking on the street. Basically, households and businesses have complied well with the regulations, and there have been no violations that need to be handled.

Seriously implementing Directive 03 dated October 26, 2020 of Lao Cai City Party Committee on strengthening leadership in environmental protection, building a "bright, green, clean, beautiful" city, Kim Tan Ward has achieved many outstanding results. Ms. Doan Thi Ngoc, Chairman of Kim Tan Ward People's Committee, said: The Ward Party Committee has issued a leadership resolution, the Ward People's Committee has an implementation plan to concretize each criterion and task of Directive 03, in which the ward pays special attention to propagating and disseminating the contents, creating a wide spread and receiving consensus and response from all classes of people in the area.

After nearly 3 years, the appearance of Kim Tan ward has changed significantly. With the criterion of “brightness”, it has invested in building, renovating, repairing and upgrading 5 urban lighting and decoration projects. In particular, mobilizing social resources to install nearly 500 decorative light clusters on the streets with a total cost of billions of VND.

Regarding the “green” criteria, it is the combination of good management of nearly 20,000 landscape trees in the Nhac Son hill area; coordinating the management and maintenance of more than 6,000 street trees, ornamental trees, flower beds, and lawns in parks and small parks in the area. The ward also mobilized resources to plant more than 100 new yellow orchid trees on Quy Hoa street.

Regarding the "clean" criteria, the rate of waste classified at source regularly reaches an average of over 99%; 100% of household waste is collected and treated. Many clogged sewer points on Nhac Son, Kim Thanh, Tran Binh Trong, Ly Cong Uan streets... at risk of flooding were promptly dredged and cleared. In particular, the ward regularly directs and mobilizes neighborhood groups and residential areas to clear grass, clean up and collect waste, rocks and soil on corridors and sidewalks; maintain good hygiene at agency headquarters, streets, and alleys. The authorities have increased inspections, and violations of dumping construction solid waste in vacant lots, riverbanks, and streams have been controlled...

With the criteria of "beautiful", the technical infrastructure system and social infrastructure of the ward have been invested relatively completely, many urban beautification projects, renovation, upgrading and road expansion have been implemented. Many new cultural houses have been started to be built, meeting the needs of cultural activities, physical training, sports as well as common activities of the residential area. In the area, there is also the most modern inter-school cluster in the province with full functions. The streets have been newly installed with nameplates, repainted, and hundreds of traffic signs and signs have been replaced...

With the strong participation and determination of the political system, the high consensus and unanimity of cadres, party members and people, the image of a civilized, spacious, modern, "bright, green, clean, beautiful" urban area is typical in the city.
