HNN.VN - On July 31st, at Hue Tourism College, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh attended the 2025 National Security Protection Day in Hue City, commemorating the 80th anniversary of the People's Public Security Force (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the 20th anniversary of the National Security Protection Day (August 19, 2005 - August 19, 2025).

Attending the event were members of the Party Central Committee: Lieutenant General Le Quoc Hung, Deputy Minister of Public Security ; Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Hien, Deputy Minister of National Defense; Nguyen Thi Tuyen, President of the Vietnam Women's Union; Nguyen Quoc Doan, Deputy Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court; and leaders of central ministries and agencies. Representing Hue City were Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Van Phuong; and Standing Committee member of the City Party Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Binh.

Over the years, the Party Committee and the government of Hue City have paid special attention to and decisively directed the movement for self-defense and self-protection, promoting it with many positive changes and attracting widespread public participation. Many diverse and rich models have been implemented focusing on self-prevention, self-management, and self-protection at the grassroots level. Notably, 117 exemplary and effective models have been implemented, such as: "Neighborhood self-management of security and order," "Community reintegration for those who have completed their prison sentences," and "Businesses saying no to drugs"... These models are being replicated, demonstrating the flexibility, creativity, and effectiveness of Hue City's security and order maintenance efforts.

Notably, the "Friendly and Safe School" model of Hue Tourism College is noteworthy. With the motto: Putting students at the center, the school has created a safe, friendly, and healthy learning environment – ​​a peaceful school for students to train and study. This not only contributes to the development of the school but also has great significance for the entire education system in the city. Hue Tourism College has become one of the shining examples, a pioneering unit in implementing the movement for national security protection, recognized by the Ministry of Public Security and the People's Committee of Hue City as an outstanding achievement unit.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh emphasized: Over the past 20 years, the National Day for Protecting National Security has become a proud cultural tradition, organized in a systematic, practical, and effective manner throughout the country. This is an opportunity to reflect on the achievements made and to commend and replicate good models, innovative approaches, and exemplary individuals in the movement. August 19th has truly become a day of national unity, strengthening the close relationship between the police force and the people, building a solid "people's security posture" and "people's hearts" - an important foundation for successfully implementing the socio-economic development tasks of the country and each locality.

To further promote and enhance the effectiveness of the "All People Participate in Protecting National Security" movement, the Standing Deputy Prime Minister requested that Party committees and governments at all levels continue to thoroughly disseminate and raise awareness of the importance of the "All People Participate in Protecting National Security" movement. This is a key, regular, and continuous political task for the entire political system and all strata of the people, including students. Focus must be placed on building a solid people's security posture and a strong foundation of public support, closely integrated with the all-people national defense posture.

Continue to vigorously innovate the content, form, and methods of political and ideological propaganda and education; awaken patriotism, national pride, and self-respect; enhance the awareness of the supremacy of law among cadres, Party members, students, and the people; mobilize the people to raise their vigilance and sense of responsibility in ensuring security and order, actively and voluntarily participate in the "All People Participate in Protecting National Security" movement, avoiding the mindset that ensuring security and order is solely the responsibility of the police force. Develop solutions to improve the quality and effectiveness of the "All People Participate in Protecting National Security" movement, in line with the two-tiered local government model.
