The National Exhibition Fair Center in Dong Anh District is a national key project in the field of trade and services, replacing the old Exhibition Center in Giang Vo. Started on August 30, 2024, the project is currently in the completion stage and is one of the major works and projects that will be inaugurated on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day.
The National Exhibition and Fair Center with a scale of 90 hectares, is in the top 10 in the world in terms of total area as well as exhibition area, located right at the Northeast gateway of Hanoi.

Inspecting the construction site of the National Exhibition Center, the Prime Minister was delighted with the urgent and exciting construction atmosphere; highly appreciated the efforts of ministries, branches, Hanoi City and Vingroup Corporation. After just over 8 months of construction, the large-scale, modern and internationally-standard Exhibition Center has gradually taken shape.
Prime Minister visits and encourages officers and workers at construction site
Working with ministries, branches and units right at the construction site, the Prime Minister welcomed relevant agencies and enterprises for promptly and seriously implementing the Prime Minister's instructions in implementing the construction of the Exhibition.
The Prime Minister requested to urgently speed up the progress, from now until the end of July 2025, the construction must be basically completed, the inauguration of the National Exhibition Fair Center must be organized on August 19, commemorating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and serving the exhibition of socio-economic achievements on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).
Prime Minister gives gifts to officials and workers at construction site
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested that along with completing the main items of the Center, it is necessary to synchronously complete auxiliary works, services, and accompanying utilities; exploit all the space of the Center; build, connect, and synchronously complete modern infrastructure for transportation, electricity, water, and telecommunications; and ensure a bright, green, clean, and beautiful environmental landscape.
The Prime Minister assigned Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh to continue directing the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to develop a schedule, assign "clear people, clear work, clear responsibilities, clear progress, clear results, clear authority" to complete the Project to organize the Exhibition of Socio-Economic Achievements on the occasion of the 80th National Day, ensuring that all ministries, branches and localities participate in the exhibition. The Prime Minister also suggested organizing cultural, artistic activities and major shows on this occasion with the participation of talented artists, attracting a large number of people to attend, considering this as the starting event for major cultural events.

In the long term, the Prime Minister directed the exploitation and development of the National Exhibition Center into a symbolic project of Hanoi and the whole country in terms of scale, modernity, cultural space, architecture, art, landscape, administration, and connection with the sacred land of Co Loa.
Organizing major events here will help form an international-scale exhibition and fair center, worthy of the nation's cultural and historical traditions, affirming the national stature and strength of the country, especially demonstrating the achievements after 40 years of renovation, promoting the position, role and image of Vietnam, while also being a tourist destination attracting international visitors and creating conditions for people to enjoy cultural achievements.
The Prime Minister noted that developing this area into a cultural - historical - artistic complex, developing the cultural and entertainment industry into a spearhead industry, exploiting all the space, creating conditions for artists to demonstrate their talents, converging and spreading the quintessence of national culture, nationalizing world cultural values and internationalizing Vietnamese cultural identity.
Emphasizing the spirit of "only discuss, do not discuss", "promise must be done, commitment must be implemented, implementation must have results, specific products", the Prime Minister agreed on the policy of having specific mechanisms and policies for the National Exhibition and Fair Center, if necessary, foreign consultants with capacity and qualifications in organizing large events can be hired and Vietnam also needs to have a team to receive technology, knowledge, experience... from abroad.
