Bus burned to frame

Hanoi: A bus was on its way from the repair shop to the parking lot when it stalled on the elevated Ring Road 3 and burst into flames on the afternoon of June 23.

At 1:45 p.m., after about 30 minutes of engine failure, on the elevated road leading to Ring Road 3 (the intersection between Pham Hung and Khuat Duy Tien), a bus of the Hanoi Bus Company caught fire.

"The fire started from the back of the car and quickly spread. I used up one fire extinguisher in the car and ran across the street to borrow another one, but I couldn't put it out," said driver Le Van Trac. At the time of the fire, only driver Trac was in the car.

Thanh Xuan District Police mobilized 3 fire trucks and about 10 soldiers to the scene. By 2:05 p.m., the fire was extinguished. However, the bus was almost burned down.

The road leading to Ring Road 3 was temporarily blocked, causing local congestion. Police are investigating the cause of the fire.
