Hanoi – A bus, on its way from a repair shop to a parking lot, broke down on the elevated section of Ring Road 3 and burst into flames on the afternoon of June 23.

At 1:45 PM, after about 30 minutes of engine failure, a bus belonging to the Hanoi Bus Company caught fire while parked on the access road to the elevated section of Ring Road 3 (at the intersection of Pham Hung and Khuat Duy Tien).

"The fire started at the back of the vehicle and quickly spread. I used up one fire extinguisher in the car, ran across the road to borrow more, but I couldn't put it out," said driver Le Van Trac. At the time of the fire, Trac was the only driver in the vehicle.

The Thanh Xuan District Police mobilized 3 fire trucks and about 10 officers to the scene. By 2:05 PM, the fire was extinguished. However, the bus was almost completely destroyed.

The access road to the Ring Road 3 has been temporarily closed, causing localized traffic congestion. Police are investigating the cause of the fire.
