The integrated economic model of Mr. Hoang Anh Tuan's family in Lang Cang village is a prime example for the locality.

With ample hilly and forested land, Mr. Tuan boldly learned from new economic development models in other localities and applied them to his family's situation. Currently, his family's integrated economic model is thriving, with 5 hectares of hilly and forested land primarily planted with cinnamon trees aged 3-15 years; nearly 20,000 frogs and 100 tanks for raising coconut beetles, and over 300 poultry of various types, generating an income of over 300 million VND per year.
Mr. Tuan shared: “The immediate goal of economic development is to create a stable life for my family, and secondly, to promote the economic development of the locality. With that in mind, I constantly learn and research effective economic models in other localities to experiment on my family's land. By learning and gaining experience, my family's life has improved significantly.”

The family of Mr. Tran Van Cuong in Khe Kia village is also considered a model household in economic development. With 4 sao (approximately 0.4 hectares) of unproductive swamp rice fields, in 2018, he hired people to renovate them into fish ponds, exploiting and utilizing different water layers to raise suitable fish species, both to make the most of feed resources and to increase fish production in the same farming area.
Mr. Cuong said: “In 2019, I harvested my first batch of fish, and after deducting expenses, it brought my family an income of over 40 million VND. With that money, I invested in building barns to raise ducks on a scale of 400 ducks per batch. Currently, in addition to fish ponds and poultry farming, I also raise nearly 10 buffaloes and cows to improve the economic efficiency of my family.”
The family of Ms. Mai Thi Hien in Lac Muong village is one of the households that boldly developed a livestock farming model and achieved considerable economic efficiency. Initially, she raised 300 broiler chickens, and seeing the effectiveness, she continued to expand the scale of her farming. Currently, she maintains a farming model with over 2,000 broiler chickens, 5 breeding sows, and 60 fattening pigs per batch.
Ms. Hien shared: "Each model generates a portion of income, so the combined income is quite stable. The important thing is knowing how to utilize the available land to maximize the effectiveness of each economic model, thus ensuring year-round employment."

To ensure the effectiveness of economic models, Phong Du Ha commune has actively promoted and encouraged people to shift their production mindset from small-scale to commodity production. Simultaneously, the locality has coordinated with specialized departments to organize numerous training courses on crop cultivation and livestock farming techniques; creating conditions for people to access preferential loans and support funds from national target programs to invest in production development. The commune continues to encourage people to form production linkages and expand the scale of effective models; while also focusing on applying science and technology to production to increase economic value per unit area.
Mr. Do Van Thanh, Chairman of the People's Committee of Phong Du Ha commune, said: "The commune has identified economic development as a key task to improve the lives of the people. In recent times, the locality has focused on mobilizing people to effectively exploit land potential and develop suitable economic models such as cinnamon cultivation, livestock farming, and integrated VAC (gardening, animal husbandry, and aquaculture) farming. As a result, many households have achieved stable incomes and are gradually rising out of poverty."

Currently, Phong Du Ha commune has developed over 100 effective economic models generating incomes ranging from 400 million VND to billions of VND per year. These economic models have made a significant contribution to increasing income and achieving sustainable poverty reduction.
Currently, the poverty rate in Phong Du Ha commune has decreased to 4.09%, a significant reduction compared to the previous period, and the average per capita income has reached nearly 50 million VND/year. Infrastructure has improved, the rural landscape is increasingly vibrant, rural roads have been expanded, many new and spacious houses are springing up, and the material and spiritual lives of the people are gradually improving.

These exemplary economic models not only help people increase their income but also create momentum to promote socio-economic development in the locality. This is also an important foundation for Phong Du Ha commune to continue effectively implementing the goal of rapid and sustainable poverty reduction, aiming to achieve the advanced new rural commune standard.
