Ambulance crashes into electric pole, more than 700 households lose power

Quang Binh After a strong collision with an ambulance, an electric pole along National Highway 1 through Ba Don town broke, leaving more than 700 households without electricity from the night of November 6 until this morning.

At around 11pm last night, driver Nguyen Hoang Anh, 27, from Hue City, was driving an ambulance on National Highway 1 from North to South. When he reached Quang Thuan Ward, Ba Don Town, the car crashed straight into a high-voltage electric pole along National Highway 1.

The extremely strong collision broke 3 electric poles, causing power outage at 5 transformer stations. 753 households in Quang Thuan ward lost power from last night until this morning.

The ambulance was crushed in the front, the driver had a broken leg and is being treated at the hospital.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Cong, Chairman of Quang Thuan Ward, said that the broken electric pole system is being repaired, and by 8am only a few households had their power restored.
