Authorities in Binh Thuan province have temporarily detained a container truck with a Binh Dinh license plate that reversed 20 meters on the Dau Giay - Phan Thiet expressway after a night-long search.

At noon on May 29th, traffic police in Binh Thuan province discovered a container truck illegally parked in a parking lot in Ham Thuan Nam district.

The 29-year-old male driver (from Hoai Nhon, Binh Dinh) and his container truck were impounded pending processing by the Traffic Police Department. For driving in reverse on the highway, the driver will be fined 16-18 million VND and have his driver's license revoked for 5-7 months.

Yesterday afternoon, after reviewing camera footage, the Traffic Police Department discovered a container truck with a Binh Dinh license plate reversing approximately 20 meters on the Dau Giay - Phan Thiet expressway, near the intersection with National Highway 55, in Song Phan commune, Ham Tan district, while many other cars were traveling on the expressway.

The vehicles had to slow down and change lanes to avoid an accident. Then, the container truck that violated the traffic rules turned right onto the road connecting National Highway 55 to National Highway 1.

Later that evening, the Traffic Police Department requested the police forces of Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Dong Nai , and Binh Thuan provinces to organize a search for the offending vehicle.
