The problem was discovered in November 2024, but Xiaomi had to wait until January 2025 to prepare a solution to fix it. According to information from Carnewschina , the recalled models are the SU7 series, which is causing a stir in the market, with the recalled versions having serial numbers BJ7000MBEVR2, XMA7000MBEVR2 and XMA7000MBEVR5.
Xiaomi SU7 will be available from March 2024
Causes of software errors on Xiaomi SU7
The error was caused by a time missynchronization of the cloud service, which led to a malfunction in the automated parking system. The company staff said that preventive measures have been taken through the cloud service along with additional safeguards to ensure the stable operation of the smart parking assistance system.
All these measures have undergone 2 months of verification to ensure safety and reliability. After the recall, Xiaomi SU7 car owners will receive a software update via OTA (Over The Air) protocol, allowing them to easily upgrade without having to visit the customer support center.
Xiaomi SU7 is Xiaomi's first electric vehicle, launched in Standard, Pro and Max versions. The Standard version is equipped with a 73.6 kWh battery for a range of up to 700 km on a single charge. The Pro version with a 94.3 kWh battery can travel about 830 km on a single charge, while the Max version comes with two powerful motors and a 101 kWh battery for a range of up to 810 km on a single charge.
Since its launch in March 2024, the Xiaomi SU7 series has achieved impressive sales, even surpassing rival Tesla's Model 3.
