The online community discovered an unusual time in the document when the invitation was dated August 27, 2024, while Ky Duyen was only crowned Miss Universe Vietnam on September 14, 2024.

This information was discovered after National Director Huong Ly presented the invitation to Ky Duyen during the send-off and posted it on social media. Although the content was removed shortly after, images of the invitation quickly spread, causing many speculations about the fairness of the contest.

In response to public concerns, Miss Universe Vietnam officially spoke up to clarify the matter.

Accordingly, Nguyen Cao Ky Duyen received an official invitation letter in Spanish from MUO 5 days after her coronation, that is, on September 19, 2024. To facilitate the visa application process, Miss Universe Vietnam requested MUO to provide an English version of the invitation letter.

This English version was sent by MUO on October 1, 2024, and is the document that is causing controversy on social media. The organizers explained that there was an unfortunate mistake about the date during the data entry process, leading to misunderstandings about the transparency of the competition.

Miss Universe Vietnam affirms that all processes and procedures related to Nguyen Cao Ky Duyen's participation in national and international competitions are carried out in accordance with legal regulations, ensuring fairness and transparency.

Miss Universe Vietnam has sent a sincere apology for this mistake and expressed its wish to receive sympathy from the public as well as press and media agencies and called on the audience to continue supporting Nguyen Cao Ky Duyen in the upcoming journey at the Miss Universe 2024 arena in Mexico.
