On January 13, information from the People's Committee of Hong Linh Town ( Ha Tinh ) said that this locality has just sent a document requesting the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province to support materials to overcome the landslide situation on the banks of Minh River (section through Hau Den residential group, Trung Luong Ward, Hong Linh Town), to ensure the safety of the historical and cultural relic of Ca Temple and the surrounding area.
Continuous landslides occur on the banks of the Minh River, "threatening" the Ca Temple worshiping Quan Hoang Muoi.
According to the report of the People's Committee of Hong Linh Town, due to the impact of heavy rain in the area at the end of September 2023, the left bank of the upstream Trung Luong sluice along the Minh River (from Trung Luong sluice to La River) and the historical and cultural relic of Ca Temple worshiping Quan Hoang Muoi were eroded.
The large landslide site is about 55 - 60 m long and 4-5 m deep. The landslide has swept away many trees and about 1,500 - 2,000 m3 of soil and rock... To handle the landslide, Hong Linh Town was provided with 390 steel cages and 600 m3 of rubble by the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province.
However, at 8:00 p.m. on January 10, the above area continued to experience landslides with a length along the riverbed of about 70 m, a width of 10 - 30 m and a subsidence height of 5 m from the natural surface to the river water level.
The banks of the Minh River are currently at risk of continued erosion spreading deeper.
The estimated amount of landslides and soil is about 11,500 m3 and is currently at risk of further landslides. This landslide damaged and collapsed the entrance gate to the historical and cultural relic of Ca Temple.
Faced with the above situation, the People's Committee of Hong Linh Town requested the superiors to support some additional spare materials including 1,500 m3 of rubble and 1,000 steel cages to build temporary embankments and handle urgent matters to limit the widespread landslides along the banks of the Minh River.
