On July 24, in response to the recent occurrence of "brokers" near hospitals collecting money to conduct medical examinations and treatments and create health records, the Da Nang City Department of Health issued an urgent dispatch requesting medical examination and treatment facilities in the area to strengthen inspection, management and timely handling of the situation of "brokers" in medical examinations and treatments.
The City Department of Health's official dispatch assessed that this situation not only causes insecurity and disorder in the hospital grounds but also affects the rights, service quality and trust of people in the health sector.
To rectify the above situation, the City Department of Health requests relevant agencies and units to strengthen the management of medical examination and treatment, ensure a civilized and transparent medical examination and treatment environment, and prevent negative situations from affecting the reputation of the health sector.
Medical facilities must conduct a review and assessment of the current situation of "brokers" at their facilities and surrounding areas.
The report must clearly state the violations, the organization of the brokers, and the measures taken by the facility. At the same time, the units must assess the potential factors that may lead to the appearance of "brokers" in the future.
The document requires strengthening internal supervision at medical facilities. Medical staff, security forces and hospital staff need to be more proactive in monitoring and detecting “broker” behavior, reporting and coordinating with the police to handle negative behaviors.
The units carry out propaganda and dissemination to all officials, employees and patients about the harmful effects of medical "brokers".
Raising awareness, helping people and medical staff understand violations will contribute to building a civilized and transparent medical environment, protecting the rights of patients and enhancing the community's trust in the medical sector.
All medical examination and treatment facilities in the area are requested to conduct inspections according to the above requirements, complete the report and send it to the Department of Health before 2:00 p.m. on July 30, 2025 via email [email protected].
Previously, on July 23, a video went viral on social media recording the scene of a girl going to the Hai Chau Regional Medical Center for a medical examination to apply for a job. However, the security guard there refused and only directed her to a grocery store at 39 Cao Thang.
Here, a woman named Dung only asked her about her health information and filled out a form, then took her to a clinic to do blood and urine tests at a total cost of 300,000 VND./.
