In addition to the fine, Cao Kim beauty salon has been suspended from providing medical services until all relevant legal documents are completed.
Ms. NTQN, a technician working at Cao Kim beauty salon, was fined 35 million VND for practicing medicine without a valid medical practice license.
In addition, Ms. TTTL, owner of HABERI beauty salon (84 Tran Quoc Toan Street, Vo Thi Sau Ward, District 3), was fined 45 million VND for providing beauty services at her establishment without having submitted a notification to the competent state agency confirming that she met the necessary conditions to provide beauty services. Furthermore, the establishment's medical examination and treatment activities were suspended until all relevant legal documents were completed.
Ho Chi Minh City: Over 7,000 establishments providing cosmetic-related services.
Currently, there are a total of 7,087 establishments providing services related to aesthetics in Ho Chi Minh City. Of these, only 598 establishments are licensed to operate by the Ministry of Health and the Department of Health (accounting for approximately 15%). The remaining 85% are licensed by the People's Committees of districts, counties, and Thu Duc City.
Specifically, out of 598 cosmetic facilities assessed and licensed by the Ministry of Health and the Department of Health, 35 are run by specialist cosmetic surgeons (20 specialized cosmetic hospitals, 15 general hospitals with cosmetic departments); 257 are specialized cosmetic surgery clinics; and 306 are dermatology clinics offering cosmetic services.
There are 6,489 establishments that have been granted business registration certificates by the People's Committees of districts, counties, and Thu Duc City. These facilities operate without assessment and licensing from specialized health authorities. These include 2,175 spa and skincare establishments; 516 establishments offering tattooing, permanent makeup, and embroidery services; and 3,798 establishments providing hair cutting, shampooing, and nail services.
According to regulations, cosmetic service establishments offering services such as tattooing, permanent makeup, and embroidery must submit a notification of eligibility to the Department of Health within 10 days before commencing operations. As of October 24th, 103 establishments have self-declared their eligibility to operate cosmetic services.
