Dead fish appear floating on Bau Giang River, Quang Ngai

People living along the banks of Bau Giang River (La Ha town, Tu Nghia district, Quang Ngai province) reported the situation of fish dying for unknown reasons on this section of the river.

In recent days, many people living along the banks of Bau Giang River have reported that the river water has turned black and murky and has a foul smell. Many large and small fish of all kinds have died and floated on this section of the river, mostly tilapia and carp.

Locals said this was not the first time fish had died. The amount of dead fish in the river had not been collected, causing a strong stench to rise around the residential area.

Mr. Nguyen Van Tanh, a local resident, said that the river water has changed color and the mass fish deaths have made everyone worried. “I hope the local government will soon intervene to handle the situation, to avoid a prolonged situation that affects people’s lives,” he said.

On May 13, La Ha Town People's Committee will send forces to the scene to inspect this incident.
