In 2025, key export items of Ha Tinh such as textiles and garments, various types of textile fibers and yarns, tea, wood chips, etc., recorded positive growth. The main reason is that businesses have focused on investing in and modernizing production processes, creating a competitive edge in the international market.

Furthermore, the signing of a series of new-generation free trade agreements (FTAs) has created a legal framework for import and export businesses. Anticipating these opportunities, businesses in Ha Tinh have proactively exploited these FTAs to their fullest potential, opening up opportunities for development.

Ha Tinh's textile and garment export turnover in the first nine months of 2025 increased by 66.51% compared to the same period in 2024.

In recent times, the textile and garment industry has inevitably faced pressure, especially from the new US tariff policies. Therefore, garment businesses in Ha Tinh province are simultaneously improving production capacity and optimizing costs to maintain competitiveness, while also leveraging the advantages of 17 FTAs to diversify export markets and avoid over-reliance on the US.

Mr. Tran Bao Khanh – Chairman of the Trade Union of Garment Factory No. 10 in Ha Tinh (Vung Ang Economic Zone) shared: “Our unit has exploited opportunities from FTAs to gradually connect supply chains and exports such as: the Vietnam-EU Free Trade Agreement, the Comprehensive and Progressive Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement, the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement… We have signed orders until the second quarter of 2026 with markets in China, the US, Japan… The factory is now looking towards European countries to seek broader market opportunities.”

Ha Tinh province has 13 large-scale garment projects and 10 small-scale projects with a total investment of over 2,500 billion VND. Many facilities have already secured orders for up to six months, demonstrating the potential and proactive approach of local garment businesses in production and business. In the first nine months of 2025, Ha Tinh's textile and garment export turnover is expected to reach approximately 34.85 million USD, an increase of 66.51% compared to the same period in 2024.

Similarly, textile fibers and yarns of all kinds are also items that have consistently recorded strong growth. In the first nine months of 2025, the export value of this item reached approximately 9.1 million USD, an increase of 84.21% compared to the same period in 2024.

Mr. Nguyen Van Son – Chairman of the Trade Union of Song La Green Packaging Joint Stock Company (Duc Tho Industrial Cluster) said: “High-quality products and reasonable prices are the ‘strengths’ that help the company boost exports to the Asian region, achieving revenue of 155 billion VND in the first nine months. In the latter part of the year, we will study free trade agreements such as CPTPP, EVFTA... to expand export markets to EU member countries, Japan, Canada, Australia... These FTAs offer opportunities thanks to commitments to deep tax reductions and strict regulations on trade in goods and services, helping packaging businesses leverage their competitive advantages for development.”

In recent times, India, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and other countries have continued to be the largest export markets for Ha Tinh tea, with export volume exceeding 2,300 tons in the first nine months of 2025, valued at approximately 4.1 million USD.

Mr. Tran Quoc Sy, Chief Accountant of Ha Tinh Tea Joint Stock Company, said: "In 2025, the company aims to export 2,600 tons of tea and forecasts exceeding the plan in October. To achieve this success, the company focuses on developing organic raw material areas, increasing product value; building and promoting the brand, raising awareness among domestic and international consumers about the value of Ha Tinh tea; and making maximum use of e-commerce platforms and online marketing methods to expand the market. The company will continue to participate in seminars and forums to update information and trends, and move towards negotiating and signing cooperation agreements with new countries.”

A positive sign is that wood chips, after facing market difficulties, have now recorded a recovery, with export turnover in the first nine months of 2025 reaching approximately 48.26 million USD, contributing to the province's trade balance.

Commercial banks will provide funding to import and export businesses during the year-end period.

Mr. Vo Ta Nghia, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, said: To boost export activities in the last months of the year, the department is developing a policy to support exports and logistics in the province for the period 2026-2030, supporting businesses in market information and warnings, strengthening trade promotion to connect supply and demand in new, potential markets; and promoting the dissemination of FTAs so that the business community can better understand and utilize them.

The Department will also continue to review and coordinate efforts to resolve difficulties and obstacles in businesses' production and business projects, promote administrative procedure reform, and create favorable conditions for businesses to participate in import and export activities.

On the part of export-oriented businesses in the area, they need to be more proactive and flexible, closely following information and recommendations from the Government and relevant ministries and agencies; promptly adjusting production and business activities to strictly comply with market regulations; investing in research and application of technology, and improving management capacity to increase the competitiveness of their products.

Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) have created a legal framework for Vietnamese goods to penetrate major markets, so import-export businesses in Ha Tinh need to make the most of the benefits from these agreements; equip themselves with knowledge about trade defense, and cooperate closely with management agencies to effectively respond to anti-dumping, anti-subsidy, or safeguard investigations from foreign countries.
