The price of Chu Se pepper (Gia Lai) was purchased at 148,000 VND/kg, stable compared to yesterday. The price of Dak Nong pepper today is at 147,500 VND/kg, stagnant compared to the general trend.

In the Southeast region, pepper prices today have not changed compared to yesterday. Specifically, in Binh Phuoc, pepper prices today are at 149,000 VND/kg. In Ba Ria - Vung Tau, it is at 148,000 VND/kg, maintaining the same trend compared to yesterday.

Thus, domestic pepper prices today are stable in key localities. The highest pepper price was recorded at 149,000 VND/kg. Although it increased again on the weekend, overall over the past week, pepper prices still decreased by about 1,000 - 3,500 VND/kg.

World pepper price today

Update on world pepper prices from the International Pepper Community (IPC), at the end of the most recent trading session, IPC listed the price of Indonesian Lampung black pepper at 6,942 USD/ton, and the price of Muntok white pepper at 9,430 USD/ton.

The price of Brazilian ASTA 570 black pepper remained at $6,750/ton. The price of Malaysian ASTA black pepper was at $8,800/ton; the price of this country's ASTA white pepper reached $11,200/ton.

The price of Vietnamese black pepper remains stable at 6,800 USD/ton for 500 g/l; 550 g/l at 7,100 USD/ton; white pepper price at 10,150 USD/ton...

According to data from the Brazilian State Center for Foreign Trade Statistics (Comex Stat), in August, Brazil's pepper exports reached 3,685 tons, worth 19.2 million USD, down sharply by 23.8% in volume and 17.8% in value compared to the previous month, and down 28.6% in volume but up 13.5% in value compared to the same period last year.

In the first 8 months of 2024, Brazil's pepper exports reached 45,699 tons with a value of 183.4 million USD. Although the volume decreased by 10.4%, the value increased by 19.3% compared to the same period in 2023. Brazil's average pepper export price increased by 33.2% (1,005 USD/ton) in the first 8 months of the year, reaching 4,033 USD/ton.

Brazil's pepper exports to Vietnam in August fell sharply to the lowest level in many months, reaching only 243 tons, down 48.5% compared to the previous month and down 76.3% compared to the same period last year.

In the first eight months of the year, Vietnam imported 6,625 tons of pepper from Brazil worth 23.5 million USD, down 30.2% in volume and 16.4% in value compared to the same period last year. Vietnam's market share in Brazil's total pepper exports also decreased from 18.6% to 14.5% after the first eight months of the year.
