According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development , in the first month of 2024, the value of the agricultural, forestry and fishery trade surplus reached over 1.4 billion USD. This figure increased 4.6 times over the same period last year.

Accordingly, the total export turnover of agricultural, forestry and fishery products reached 5.14 billion USD, up 79.2% over the same period last year; while the import value was 3.72 billion USD.
The export turnover of agricultural, forestry and fishery products increased sharply, reaching 5.14 billion USD thanks to the increase in the contribution of all product groups: forestry products 1.49 billion USD, up 72.5%; aquatic products 730 million USD, up 60.8%; agricultural products 2.71 billion USD, up 93.8%; livestock 36 million USD, up 3.5%; production inputs 177 million USD, up 49.2%.
In terms of markets, the export value of agricultural, forestry and fishery products to all markets increased. Of which, exports to the Americas were 1.18 billion USD (up 93.6%); Africa 104 million USD (up 185.4%); Asia 2.52 billion USD (up 86.3%); Europe 532 million USD (up 38.2%) and Oceania 78 million USD (up 100.9%).
The export value of agricultural, forestry and fishery products to China accounted for 23%, up 106.9%; the US accounted for 20.8%, up 95.9% and Japan accounted for 7.4%, up 47.5%.
Regarding imports, imported items such as agricultural products reached 2.2 billion USD, up 41.1%; livestock products were 300 million USD, up 46.8%; aquatic products reached 250 million USD, up 33.9%; forestry products reached 253 million USD, up 100.7%...
According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, currently the country has 6,997 growing areas granted export codes to markets; 1,613 packaging facilities granted export codes; additional export products (durian, bird's nest to China; pomelo, fresh coconut to the United States...). Units in the industry have promptly resolved difficulties in exporting to markets, shipments warned by competent authorities of countries...
