On April 15th, Độ Mixi (Phùng Thanh Độ), currently the most-watched live streamer in Vietnam, announced that he would cease his partnership with the NimoTV platform starting in May. This news came as a surprise, given their long-standing collaboration. Furthermore, Độ is a streamer with a large viewership and significant revenue contribution to the streaming application.

Many members of Refund Gaming, the streamer group founded by this individual, also stopped working with the platform in May. Neither Mr. Phung Thanh Do nor NimoTV announced the reason for the termination of the partnership. However, the platform reacted unusually when this announcement was made.

Specifically, Rambo (Lam Dinh Khoa), a member of the group founded by Mr. Do, stated that the platform no longer distributes the channel's content after April 15th. Users are forced to search manually. This information was also confirmed by Do Mixi in a recent broadcast. According to him, the platform responded that the problem stemmed from a technical error.

"There were no technical issues that caused the loss of suggestions on the homepage and in search results. NimoTV's response didn't satisfy me. It's a large company, and their behavior is ridiculous," Mr. Do expressed his frustration in his response to viewers.

Following the incident, NimoTV was attacked by numerous accounts on social media and received one-star ratings on app stores.

The entertainment livestreaming market in Vietnam has slowed down after a period of rapid growth. Many platforms invested heavily and attracted creators, but ultimately had to leave due to inefficiency. The list of apps that have withdrawn from Vietnam includes Azubu, Twitch, CubeTV, Nonolive, and others.

Recently, Nimo has been unrivaled in the game streaming market, holding exclusive contracts with many famous creators such as Truc Tiep Game (Dung CT), SBTC (Thay Giao Ba), and Refund Gaming (Do Mixi). However, the two most popular figures, Dung CT and Do Mixi, have announced their departure from the platform. According to StreamChart, Phung Thanh Do is the streamer with the most viewing hours, double that of the next highest-ranked streamer.

Teacher Ba (Phan Tan Trung), a streamer second only to Do Mixi on NimoTV, believes the contract termination is a major loss for the platform. Other broadcasters will no longer benefit from Refund Gaming's large fanbase.

Before ending the partnership, Độ Mixi had repeatedly complained about issues with the app. The streamer received feedback from viewers about poor broadcast quality, low resolution, and choppy speeds, which diminished the viewing experience. NimoTV also forced creators to use the platform's in-app donation tool instead of third-party solutions.

This company provides broadcasting solutions in multiple countries. According to the company, Nimo is linked to Huya, one of the three most popular streaming apps in China. However, the livestreaming industry in the country of over a billion people is also in decline.

Độ Mixi is one of the most prominent content creators in Vietnam in recent years. His YouTube channel currently has 8 million subscribers. His group and personal Facebook page also have millions of members.

Recently, Mr. Độ was involved in a controversy when his name was mentioned and he was insulted during a dissing rap competition on the show Disneeland. The uproar was later resolved between the two parties, and rapper MC ILL publicly apologized on behalf of the organizers.
