Request to report on the case of district headquarters "increasing capital" by nearly 8 billion VND

(NLDO) - The Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thanh Hoa requested to verify and report the case of the district headquarters "increasing capital" from 45 to 53 billion VND as reported by the Newspaper Nguoi Lao Dong.

On March 8, Mr. Pham Nguyen Hong, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism (VH-TT-DL) of Thanh Hoa province, signed a document to verify and check the information reported by Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper regarding the construction of the office of the People's Council and People's Committee of Hoang Hoa district.

In this document, the Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thanh Hoa province requested the People's Committee of Hoang Hoa district to urgently check and verify the content of the information reflected by the Newspaper Nguoi Lao Dong , send a document to the press agency, and at the same time send it to the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Provincial Party Committee, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thanh Hoa to synthesize and report to the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

Previously, as reported by Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper, on March 5, 2025, Mr. Hoang Ngoc Du, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Hoang Hoa district, Thanh Hoa province, signed a decision approving the adjustment of the feasibility study report of the Investment Project to build the working headquarters of the People's Council - People's Committee of Hoang Hoa district.

According to this decision, the project was initially approved with a total investment of 45 billion VND, now adjusted to 52.8 billion VND (an increase of 7.8 billion VND). In addition to adjusting the amount, this decision also extends the project implementation period to 2026 (the previous decision had the implementation period from 2021-2024).

The project is invested in and built very modernly, aiming to improve the facilities of local administrative agencies, creating favorable conditions for work and serving the people.

It is worth mentioning that the approval to increase the total investment of this project was issued by the People's Committee of Hoang Hoa district after February 28, 2025, when the Politburo and the Secretariat issued Conclusion 127 on studying the abolition of district-level administrative units.

It is known that after Conclusion 127 of the Politburo and the Secretariat was issued, many localities have announced the temporary suspension of the implementation of new investment projects, works, repairs, renovations, and upgrades of offices of agencies, organizations, and units under the management of district-level administrative units, ensuring thrift practice and anti-waste.

However, in Thanh Hoa there has been no announcement or guidance on this matter.

According to the records, the investment project to build the office headquarters of the People's Council - People's Committee of Hoang Hoa district was approved by the Chairman of the People's Committee of Hoang Hoa district in Decision No. 1575/QD-UBND dated August 24, 2022 (headquartered in But Son town, Hoang Hoa district).

The project has a total investment of 45 billion VND, invested by Hoang Hoa District Construction Investment Project Management Board from the district budget and some other legal sources. The project is 8 stories high, with a floor area of ​​about 5,000 m2.
