On August 23, at the National Assembly House, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue received Chairman of the Japanese Komeito Party Yamaguchi Natsuo and his delegation who are visiting and working in Vietnam.

At the meeting, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue emphasized that the visit took place in a very meaningful context when the two countries were organizing activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations (September 21, 1973 - September 21, 2023) and expressed his belief that the visit would contribute to strengthening the cooperative relationship between the Komeito Party of Japan and the Communist Party of Vietnam as well as making an important contribution to consolidating and strengthening the current Vietnam - Japan Extensive Strategic Partnership.
Chairman of the Japanese Komeito Party Yamaguchi Natsuo shared that since his first visit to Vietnam in 1991, this return has witnessed Vietnam's remarkable development with many significant and outstanding changes.

On this occasion, Chairman of the Komeito Party of Japan Yamaguchi Natsuo sent his deepest condolences to the Party, State of Vietnam and the family of Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh on the passing of the Deputy Prime Minister; highly appreciated Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh's contributions to the relationship between the two countries, as well as his practical support for Japanese enterprises investing and doing business in Hai Phong during his tenure as Secretary of the Hai Phong City Party Committee.

Acknowledging that in recent times, the two countries have regularly maintained high-level and all-level delegation exchanges, Chairman of the Japanese Komeito Party Yamaguchi Natsuo said that in the coming time, the two countries need to continue to expand people-to-people exchanges, delegation exchanges at all levels, exchanges between parliamentarians and people-to-people exchanges.
Currently, there are about 500,000 Vietnamese people living, studying and working in Japan. The two countries have also signed a cooperation agreement on high-quality education. Chairman of the Japanese Komeito Party Yamaguchi Natsuo hopes that in the future, there will be more Vietnamese students studying and researching in Japan, contributing to the development of Vietnam and the relationship between the two countries.
In addition, along with the form of trainees, since 2019, Japan has established a mechanism for special skilled workers, expecting to expand in the coming time to have more Vietnamese people come to Japan as special skilled workers.
On behalf of the Party, State, National Assembly, Hai Phong City National Assembly Delegation and voters, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue expressed his emotion and gratitude for the sentiments and sharing of Party Chairman Cong Minh on the passing of Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh.
National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue stated that the Vietnamese National Assembly and he personally support Japan's increasingly greater position in the region and the world, and agree to support the promotion of Japan's relations with ASEAN countries. Vietnam wishes to further strengthen Japan's role in sub-regional cooperation mechanisms such as the Mekong sub-region.
