General Secretary To Lam: No worries about surplus public assets

Responding to voters' opinions, General Secretary To Lam stated: "We have calculated and are not worried about surplus. These facilities can be converted into places for kindergarten children to study or places for people to come for health check-ups and examinations, reducing the burden on hospitals. I think the people will completely agree."

Highly agreeing with the implementation of the Central Committee's resolution on streamlining administrative units, effectiveness and efficiency, voter Tran Thi To Tam (Giang Vo ward) shared: "At first, people were also concerned about some contents such as whether personal documents had to change, how administrative procedures were handled, whether it would take a lot of time to travel, and whether the policies and regimes were guaranteed? However, this content, according to the direction of the Central Committee and the city, has now been very clear and people feel secure when the documents remain the same, people do not have to bear the cost of reform, and administrative procedures are not interrupted."

Voter Doan Thi Mai (Dong Da ward) said: "People and voters are still concerned about arranging headquarters to avoid the situation of leaving them empty and wasteful, while people lack cultural and community entertainment facilities. Is the arrangement of officials and civil servants at the points serving people's administrative procedures guaranteed? Is there a situation of overload?"

Concerned about fluctuations in the domestic gold market, voter Dinh Quoc Phong (O Cho Dua ward) reflected: "Each tael of gold is 4 to 5 million VND different from the world price, sometimes up to nearly 20 million VND, which has affected the economy. The situation of gold smuggling across the border is increasing."

In particular, voter Hoang Tuyen (Ngoc Ha ward) frankly said that the problem of fake and poor quality goods is currently very painful and hot.

Responding to voters' opinions, General Secretary To Lam stated: "We have also calculated, there is no need to worry about surplus. Sharing voters' concerns about the large workload that could overload officials and civil servants in the ward, the General Secretary affirmed that the Party and State have also anticipated that they will be able to meet the demand.

Regarding the proposal to adjust the gold market management policy, General Secretary To Lam said he was "very impatient" and recently met with the Central Policy and Strategy Committee and relevant agencies to find effective solutions to combat smuggling and respect the people's legal ownership rights.

Regarding the private economy, the General Secretary emphasized: "I have said it before, I am not afraid that this economy is a capitalist economy, whether it deviates or not." Reaffirming that Vietnam's economy is a socialist-oriented market economy under the leadership of the Party and the management of the State, the General Secretary made it clear that only by not doing it well will it deviate.

The General Secretary also shared that he is very concerned about the problem of counterfeit goods, fake food, and fake medicine.

“Whether the management is formal or not, the current situation is that when checking for fake goods, the whole market has to close down and listen. Children need nutrition to grow, but instead of buying nutritious milk, they get fake milk. Elderly people who are sick and cannot eat, buy milk hoping to be healthy but get fake milk. The same goes for medicine, hoping to cure an illness but get fake medicine, not only does it not cure the illness but it is also more dangerous, extremely toxic,” the General Secretary said and emphasized that we must declare war on this type of crime; not only fake goods but also poor quality goods are not accepted.
