Representatives from the Trang An Eco- tourism Area announced that the "Vietnamese Women Connecting Across the World" group, with 1,100 members, set a record at the Trang An scenic complex on the morning of April 19th.

The record was set for "The program with the largest number of women wearing green ao dai (traditional Vietnamese dress) and conical hats participating in a boat trip on the river, with a message praising peace and protecting heritage."

Representatives of the Vietnamese Women Connecting Across the World group stated that the program was organized to honor the beauty of the Vietnamese ao dai, celebrate peace, and spread the message of protecting and promoting cultural heritage. This is also an activity to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the reunification of the country on April 30th.

The Trang An tourist area arranged nearly 300 boats to transport female participants in the program. On each boat, the organizers prepared the national flag for the participants to carry during their more than 5 km journey along the winding Sao Khe River around the Trang An tourist area.

The event to set a new Vietnamese record attracted the attention of a large number of domestic and international tourists.

Nearly 300 boats carrying over 1,000 women wearing traditional ao dai dresses visited Trang An.

Previously, the record for the largest number of women wearing traditional Vietnamese ao dai was set in July 2017 with approximately 1,000 people showcasing their figures in traditional ao dai with lotus flower motifs by West Lake. The event was part of the first Hanoi Lotus Festival organized by the Tay Ho District People's Committee and the Hanoi Ao Dai Heritage Club.

The Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex covers a total area of over 12,000 hectares, featuring majestic mountains, winding rivers, and pristine valleys, spanning five districts and cities in Ninh Binh province. The complex boasts spiritual, historical, and ecological destinations; its buffer zone includes rice paddies, historical sites, and scenic landscapes. Trang An was recognized by UNESCO as a World Natural Heritage Site – the first mixed heritage site in Vietnam and Southeast Asia – in 2014. Its outstanding global value is recognized based on three criteria: cultural, aesthetic beauty, and geological and geomorphological features.
