American billionaires often have a rather discreet way of supporting their favorite presidential candidates. Most of the super-rich do not directly express their opinions, but support them quietly. However, there are still a few billionaires who choose to support publicly.
Elon Musk: $270.3 billion
Billionaire Elon Musk, the world’s richest man, has been a vocal and outspoken supporter of Trump throughout the final months of the campaign. The SpaceX founder has also been a Trump supporter at campaign events. America PAC, the political action committee Musk founded to support Trump’s presidential campaign, has spent more than $119 million during the campaign, according to data from Open Secrets. Musk’s personal contributions have also made him one of the biggest donors to this year’s presidential race.

Billionaire Jeff Bezos wrote in a post on the X platform (formerly Twitter) that Mr. Trump showed “incredible courage under fire” after the assassination attempt in July. However, the Amazon founder has not directly expressed support for any candidate. Back in 2020, Mr. Bezos celebrated President Joe Biden ’s victory. In addition, the US election information site OpenSecrets also revealed that Amazon is one of the largest donors to Ms. Harris’s campaign, with nearly $1.5 million.

According to candidate Donald Trump, billionaire Mark Zuckerberg was so surprised after the assassination attempt on Trump in July that he expressed his support for the 78-year-old former president. According to Fortune magazine, the Oracle co-founder has not publicly endorsed Mr. Trump, but the two are considered to have a close relationship.

The US newspaper quoted sources close to Gates as saying that the Microsoft founder donated about $50 million to a non-profit organization supporting Harris' campaign.
