(ABO) A thunderstorm at noon on July 16 blew off roofs of houses and broke medium-voltage power poles in Vinh Binh commune, Dong Thap province.

According to a quick report from the Economic Department, Vinh Binh Commune People's Committee, at noon on July 16, thunderstorms accompanied by strong winds damaged 1 house, 1 warehouse and 1 electric pole, with a damage rate of 50% - 100%; total damage is estimated at about 65 million VND.

Specifically, the thunderstorm caused the warehouse of Mr. Dong Minh Trieu (Binh Tay Hamlet, Vinh Binh Commune) to be completely blown away; the damage was estimated at about 50% of the total warehouse. The thunderstorm also caused the roof of Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nhan's house (Hamlet 5, Vinh Binh Commune) to be damaged, the walls cracked, and the corrugated iron completely blown away; the damage was estimated at 100% of the house. In addition, the thunderstorm also caused the medium voltage pole No. 13 along National Highway 50 to break.

After the incident, the leaders of Hamlet 5 came to support Mr. Nhan's family to overcome the damage. The Electricity Department also fixed the problem and replaced the new pole.
