On the morning of July 24, Vietnamese Ambassador to Indonesia, Mr. Ta Van Thong, visited and encouraged the spirit of the Vietnam U.23 team before the semi-final match of the 2025 Southeast Asian U23 Championship against the Philippines U23. Accompanying the Ambassador were officials and leaders of the Vietnamese Embassy in Indonesia.

U.23 Vietnam aims for the best results

Welcoming the delegation at the team's base, Mr. Tran Anh Tu, Vice President of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), head of the U.23 Vietnam team at the tournament, thanked Ambassador Ta Van Thong for his special attention to the team, as well as the embassy's timely and effective support for the national teams whenever they have the opportunity to compete in Indonesia.

Head of delegation Tran Anh Tu affirmed that the whole team is maintaining a high level of determination and has made careful preparations to aim for the best results in the semi-final match.

Speaking at the meeting, Ambassador Ta Van Thong shared that despite being busy with many tasks at the Embassy, he has always closely followed the team's activities since arriving in Indonesia. Ambassador Ta Van Thong congratulated the team on achieving the goal of passing the group stage as the top team in Group B and believes that with the spirit of solidarity, concentration and dedication, the U.23 Vietnam team will win against the U.23 Philippines to advance to the final match.

The Ambassador also said that although the Vietnamese community in Indonesia is not large at present, they will definitely continue to come to the stadium to cheer for the team. This is an important source of spiritual encouragement, showing the sentiment and trust of overseas Vietnamese in the national team.

According to plan, this afternoon (July 24), coach Kim Sang-sik and his team will continue to practice to perfect their tactical plans, ready for the semi-final match against U.23 Philippines, taking place at 4:00 p.m. on July 25 at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium, Jakarta, Indonesia.
