With a clear vision: aiming to develop a new generation of outstanding athletes, the second Project, scheduled to be launched in August 2025, has attracted the attention of more than 800 young people, boys and girls from 6 to 17 years old.
Bahrain focuses on developing young sports talent.
Chaired by Creative Director Salama Mohammed Atiq, a pre-show meeting was held with the participation of technical teams responsible for the show's sports: Football, Basketball, Volleyball, Karate, Judo, Weightlifting, Padel, Para-Badminton and Boccia.
At the meeting, key issues were discussed such as: Technical framework and planning, assessment methods that will be applied to participants. Tests will assess motor, physical and technical skills, aiming to select the most promising faces and put them on the path of in-depth development in the national and youth teams.
The organization will be responsible for conducting and analyzing scientific and physical assessments to ensure a professional and rigorous approach in identifying talent, said Shereen Faisal, marketing director of the Nasser Artificial Intelligence Research & Development Center, a technical partner of the program.
The Chairman of the Committee for Equal Opportunities and Gender Balance in Sports, Hessa bint Khalid Al Khalifa, stated that, ‘I am Talented – Sports’ is one of Bahrain’s flagship national initiatives and reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to gender equality and inclusion in the sports sector.
“We are proud to see this programme continue to grow and expand in its second edition, with a greater focus on engaging girls alongside boys. This broad participation promotes a fair and empowering sporting environment. Our support stems from our firm belief in the importance of identifying talent early and ensuring equal opportunities for all to excel and develop in sport,” added Chairman Hessa bint Khalid Al Khalifa.
The organizers highlighted the increase in registrations compared to the previous edition, with around 800 athletes from various sports this year. This demonstrates the growing interest of the sporting community and their recognition of the impact the program has had on the development of young local athletes.
The 'I am Talented - Sports' program will strictly adhere to established technical and organizational standards, reaffirming its commitment to the strategic goals of the Project.
