104 billion VND to handle landslides in Son Tra peninsula area and embankment to protect Hoang Sa and Vo Nguyen Giap streets

The City People's Committee has just approved the investment policy for the project to consolidate Hoang Sa Street in the Son Tra Peninsula area to limit traffic congestion as well as ensure safety for vehicles and people participating in traffic, especially during the rainy and stormy season.

Accordingly, based on determining the cause of damage and landslides on Hoang Sa road in Son Tra peninsula area, the city applies appropriate treatment solutions for each location on the route (within the land area reserved for traffic) with the requirement of short construction time, and can simultaneously deploy solutions to ensure construction safety.

It is expected that 33 locations of rolling rocks and slope collapses will be handled with solutions such as handling slope collapses due to steep terrain, rolling rocks, negative slope landslides, mud and rock floods, and flows; repairing drainage systems; implementing solutions to green the slope surface. The project has a total investment of more than 79 billion VND, with implementation period from 2023-2025.

The City People's Committee has also approved the investment policy for the project of Investment and reinforcement of the embankment system along the Hoang Sa - Truong Sa - Vo Nguyen Giap coastal route. Accordingly, the city will build 2 embankment sections with a total length of about 400m on the Hoang Sa - Truong Sa - Vo Nguyen Giap coastal route with prestressed reinforced concrete sheet piles in the form of thin-slab wall structures using precast corrugated sheet piles or reinforced concrete gravity retaining walls; reinforce the front and back of the protective embankment wall with stacked precast concrete blocks or in-situ concrete; fill in sand to restore the reinforced area with reclaimed sand; restore the access to the beach, sidewalks, walkways of underground works; relocate and add a system of trees to block wind and sand combined with coastal protection. The project has a total investment of more than 25 billion VND, with an implementation period from 2023 to 2025.
