On the morning of April 9, Mr. Nguyen Van Hoa - Chairman of the People's Committee of Do Luong Town, Do Luong District ( Nghe An ) said that after checking the health of students showing signs of suspected food poisoning, this morning the children were stable and returned to school.
According to initial information, at around 8:00 a.m. on April 8, 12 students in grades 2, 3 and 4 of Do Luong Town Primary School began to show signs of stomachache and were given first aid at the school's medical room.
After that, the school informed the parents and took the children to the town health station and Do Luong District General Hospital for timely examination and treatment.
Through investigation, these students bought rice balls at a sidewalk restaurant near the back gate of the school for breakfast before going to class. The students were then given IV fluids and medical monitoring, by the evening, their health had stabilized and they were allowed to go home.
After the incident, Do Luong Town Primary School requested local authorities to inspect and rectify the operations of sidewalk stalls around the school area to ensure food safety and hygiene, and prevent the risk of similar incidents.
The cause of the incident is being investigated by the authorities.
