On the afternoon of October 9, in Hanoi , the Third National Press Award "For the cause of developing Vietnamese Culture" - 2025 officially entered the final round to select outstanding works to honor and award prizes.

Speaking at the opening of the final round, Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh emphasized that our Party and State always pay special attention to cultural development through the issuance of many Resolutions on culture. Currently, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is drafting a Resolution of the Politburo on the revival and development of Vietnamese culture in the new era. When issued, the Resolution will create a strong driving force for the development of Vietnamese culture in the new period. With the positive changes in the development of culture, sports and tourism in recent times, this will be the material for journalists to have more articles, for the cause of developing Vietnamese culture.

According to Deputy Minister Le Hai Binh, this year's award continues to receive the attention and support of journalists, as shown by the quantity and quality of submitted works. The works cover all fields, expressing concerns for the preservation and promotion of the value of Vietnamese cultural heritage, the development of cultural industries, ethical standards in families and society, and the promotion of Vietnamese culture to the world...
“In addition to honoring and encouraging journalists, the award is also a campaign to further spread inspiration to write about the cause of developing Vietnamese culture. Under the chairmanship of the Chairman of the Final Jury - journalist Le Quoc Minh, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association, the Council's work will continue to spread encouragement and inspiration to continue writing about Vietnamese culture,” Deputy Minister Le Hai Binh affirmed.

Reporting on the preliminary round of judging, Head of the Professional and Communication Department (Vietnam Journalists Association) Tran Thai Son said that in just nearly 4 months of launching, up to August 10, 2025 (according to the postmark), there were 1,040 press works submitted to the contest from most central and local press agencies. The entries were published and broadcast on various types of press: print newspapers, electronic newspapers, radio, television, press photos, from June 16, 2024 to July 31, 2025.
After screening and preliminary selection, 927 works entered the preliminary round, of which, 223 were printed newspapers; 385 were electronic newspapers; 45 were radio; 103 were television; and 171 were photojournalism. The preliminary selection committee selected 122 excellent works to present to the final selection committee.
According to the assessment of the Preliminary Jury, the entries were not only large in quantity and diverse in topics, but also of good professional quality, gathering many large and small press agencies at the central and local levels. The entries all adhered to major themes, vividly reflecting important events of 2024-2025 in the fields of culture, information, sports, tourism and family.

Some prominent topics that many groups of readers are interested in and exploit include: Issues about the position and role of culture in the new era of the nation; opportunities in building and developing the entertainment industry, film market, book market and reading culture; developing tourism, sports, building families, protecting children; preserving and promoting, conserving relics and cultural heritage of Vietnam; innovation and copyright in the cultural field in the current digital environment; family topics, about the tradition of studiousness with exemplary characters who are filial and loyal to their parents; guiding readers to the true, good and beautiful values of life; hot social issues such as the spirit of mutual love, solidarity in storms and floods; stories catching the "trend" of patriotism...
It is expected that the closing ceremony and awarding ceremony of the third National Press Award "For the cause of developing Vietnamese culture" - 2025 will take place in Hanoi in November 2025, with the participation of leaders of the Party, State, central ministries, branches, press agencies and outstanding journalists.
