Capital's youth urgently support people in flood-hit areas

On the evening of October 9, a working delegation of the Hanoi Youth Union, led by Vice Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee and Secretary of the Hanoi Youth Union Nguyen Tien Hung, visited and presented gifts to people in Da Phuc commune affected by storms No. 10 and No. 11.

In recent days, the flood situation in Hanoi has been complicated. In Da Phuc commune, 339 households of Yen Phu village were flooded and completely isolated, people had to move by boat. Also affected by storm No. 11, the water level of Cau river rose above the alarm level 3, temporarily isolating more than 2,400 households with over 9,500 people in Trung Gia commune.

The working delegation of the City Youth Union visited and sent essential supplies to the people of Da Phuc commune, and at the same time transferred support resources to Trung Gia commune.

In recent days, union members and youth have strongly promoted the spirit of volunteering to support people affected by storms and floods. Volunteer teams have not been afraid of difficulties, participating in moving assets, cleaning up the environment and distributing necessities in isolated areas. The image of the green volunteer shirts has become a great source of encouragement, helping people overcome initial difficulties.

In the coming time, the Hanoi Youth Union will continue to send support resources to localities in the city and provinces and cities affected by storms and floods.

It is expected that on October 11 and 12, the Hanoi Youth Union will organize student volunteer teams to support people and youth in affected provinces such as Thai Nguyen and Lang Son .

The unit organized the donation of 300 boxes of instant noodles and 300 boxes of 1.5 liter water, worth 75 million VND, to the affected people in Trung Gia and Da Phuc communes. This is a practical action to share the difficulties and support the people to stabilize their lives during the period of isolation due to natural disasters.
