More than 200 officers and soldiers of Regiment 833, Provincial Military Command, prevent the dike from overflowing in Tam Giang commune.

BAC NINH - Due to the influence of the low pressure trough of storm No. 11 and heavy rain upstream, from 11 p.m. on October 8, the right dike of Ca Lo, Tam Giang commune, from km0+700 to km1+200, was flooded. In addition, at the location of the Vong Nguyet pumping station, the right dike of Cau Lu is at risk of overflowing, causing flooding in Tam Giang commune.

200 officers and soldiers of Regiment 833, Bac Ninh Provincial Military Command participated in rescue against overflow of Ca Lo right dike, Tam Giang commune.

According to Mr. Nguyen Quang Sam, Chairman of the Commune People's Committee, Head of the Tam Giang Commune Civil Defense Command, in response to the flood situation, the Command mobilized about 500 local forces to reinforce the embankment with sandbags and anti-overflow tarpaulins from 3:00 a.m. on October 9, and at the same time reported the incident to the Provincial Civil Defense Command to propose handling measures and request to increase military forces to support anti-overflow.

By 3:00 p.m. on October 9, Tam Giang commune had used 1,300 cubic meters of sand to reinforce the dikes.

According to Major Dao Manh Toan, Political Assistant, Political Department of Regiment 833, after receiving orders from the Provincial Military Command, the Party Committee and Command of Regiment 833 alerted and deployed a force of 200 officers and soldiers along with various materials and mobile vehicles to the dike site. From 7:00 a.m. on October 9, the unit deployed reinforcement at 2 dike locations including: The right dike location of the Bridge, the section through the Vong Nguyet pumping station culvert, Tam Giang commune, 50 m long, raising the dike surface to prevent floodwaters from overflowing the dike and the location from km0+700 to km1+200 of the right dike of Ca Lo.

By 3:00 p.m. on October 9, together with local forces, officers and soldiers of Regiment 833 had used 1,300 cubic meters of sand to complete the reinforcement of 500 meters of Ca Lo right dike and 50 meters of Cau right dike to prevent water from overflowing the dike.

Currently, flood water on Ca Lo River and Cau River continues to rise, with the risk of dike overflow at other key locations, so officers, soldiers and people of Tam Giang commune continue to reinforce and raise the flood protection level of the dike system in the area, ensuring the safety of agricultural production, people's lives and property.
