The National Quality Award is awarded annually to enterprises with outstanding achievements in improving product and service quality, competitiveness and operational efficiency, integrating with the regional and global economy, and making positive contributions to the community and society. Enterprises participating in the National Quality Award are divided into 4 types: Large manufacturing enterprises; Small and medium manufacturing enterprises; Large service enterprises and Small and medium service enterprises.
After 28 years of implementation, 2,163 enterprises have won awards. Of these, 332 enterprises won Gold Awards, and 139 enterprises received Certificates of Merit from the Prime Minister.
Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Le Xuan Dinh said that after the Covid-19 pandemic, Vietnamese enterprises are facing unprecedented challenges in many different fields. With their own efforts and the support of the Government, many enterprises have stood firm and created momentum for development, including typical enterprises that were awarded the National Quality Award by the Prime Minister in 2021, 2022 and 2023. The increase in the number of enterprises meeting the criteria of the National Quality Award is the basis for improving the competitiveness of Vietnamese enterprises in the international arena and is also the pride of the Vietnamese business community.
The Deputy Minister also requested the National Committee for Standards, Metrology and Quality to more effectively implement the National Quality Award. Specifically, orienting businesses to approach the Award as an important tool to comprehensively evaluate the performance of the management system according to international standards. Through the Award criteria, businesses can discover points that need improvement, thereby creating a basis for enhancing competitiveness and orienting sustainable development. This is also the core value that the Award brings to Vietnamese businesses when they apply the National Quality Award model to business management. At the same time, it is necessary to organize sessions to share good practices, stable and excellent results of honored businesses with the community.
Regarding the 2021 Asia-Pacific International Quality Award, the Asia-Pacific International Quality Organization has officially announced the results of the two honored enterprises: TH Milk Food Joint Stock Company (Nghe An province) and Khanh Hoa Salanganes Nest Beverage Joint Stock Company (Khanh Hoa province). 2021 is the 22nd year that Vietnam has participated in the Asia-Pacific Quality Award.
By the end of 2023, among Vietnamese enterprises that won the National Quality Award , 55 typical enterprises were honored at the international level and awarded the Asia-Pacific Quality Award (GPEA).
