The VietChain Talent 2025 competition is held in the context of the Vietnamese blockchain technology and crypto asset market becoming more vibrant than ever after the Law on Digital Technology Industry was officially passed by the National Assembly on June 14, 2025 while blockchain technology was identified as a Strategic Technology according to Decision 1131/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister dated June 12, 2025.
Organized by 1Matrix Company, Vietnam Blockchain Association and Government Cipher Committee, the contest has the mission of finding, nurturing talents and honoring blockchain initiatives that are highly applicable, innovative and capable of contributing to the national digital transformation process while also contributing to the journey of building "Make in Vietnam" technology solutions of regional and international stature.
Since its announcement in May 2025, the contest has quickly created a strong ripple effect on media platforms, reaching more than 30 million followers through newspapers, television channels and social networking platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, TikTok... This attraction comes not only from the largest prize scale ever, up to 3.5 billion VND, of which the First Prize for the Layer 1 theme alone is worth 1 billion VND in cash, but also from the topical and practical topics of the contest topics.
As of the closing date of the submission portal on June 30, 2025, the Organizing Committee recorded 320 ideas, 220 teams registered to participate and a total of 138 submitted entries, covering four key topics that are leading the global blockchain development trend.
Of which, Topic 1 (Layer 1) accounted for the highest proportion, reaching nearly 35%, Topic 3 (Blockchain Tracing) reached 32.5%. The remaining two topics, respectively Topic 2 (Crypto Asset Exchange CEX/DEX) reached 21.5% and Topic 4 (Blockchain Bridge) recorded only 11% of the total number of entries.
The competition has the participation of many subjects, from professional engineers, finance-technology experts from Techcombank, OneMount Group, FPT, Misa, SkyMavis, Decom Stars, AnyAxis Labs, MSB Bank, VP Bank, HDBank ,...
In particular, the program recorded the participation of teams and quality entries from more than 20 prestigious universities and training organizations such as: Cryptography Engineering Academy, Military Technical Academy, Ho Chi Minh City National University, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology, FPT University Can Tho, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology...

Mr. Phan Duc Trung, Chairman of 1Matrix Company, Chairman of Vietnam Blockchain Association emphasized: “VietChain Talents is not only a competition but also a launching pad for real talents and breakthrough ideas, contributing to the process of building a vibrant and sustainable Vietnamese blockchain ecosystem”.
Sharing about the process of receiving, screening, and classifying the entries in the preliminary round, Mr. Do Van Thuat, Director of Blockchain Solutions and Architecture of 1Matrix Company, said that the projects were evaluated based on a comprehensive set of criteria, focusing on creativity, practical application, and scalability.
Mr. Thuat also said that during the project implementation process, the teams continuously discussed and received technical advice from experts to perfect their ideas, ensuring that they met the criteria set forth by the Competition.
Ms. Nguyen Van Hien, Vice President of Vietnam Blockchain Association, Head of VietChain Talents Organizing Committee informed: “We are very surprised and happy to witness the seriousness, methodicalness as well as enthusiasm of the competing teams. The creative, dynamic atmosphere and the desire to overcome the limits of the young people have given us strong belief in the future of the blockchain industry in Vietnam”.
The semi-finals and finals are expected to take place in August 2025 in Hanoi. The total prize is up to 3.5 billion VND.
