Dong Thap: Speeding up the progress of the Bao Dinh River Road Project

(ABO) Recognizing the significance and importance of the Bao Dinh Riverbank Road Project, the investor and related parties are making efforts to remove difficulties in site clearance to speed up the project's progress. In parallel with focusing on completing site clearance at the remaining locations, the investor is focusing on urging contractors to speed up construction at locations where the site has been allocated.

According to the Management Board of Investment and Construction of Civil and Industrial Works of Dong Thap Province, the Bao Dinh River Road Project has a total investment of nearly 2,000 billion VND; of which the estimated cost of site clearance is more than 726 billion VND.

Contractors are focusing on mobilizing human resources and equipment to speed up construction progress.

The project has 5 construction packages, and will implement many items. Specifically, it will build a traffic route along both banks of the river with a total length of 9.978 km. The project will build a prestressed reinforced concrete embankment to protect the river bank with a total length of 10.28 km. At the same time, it will arrange a drainage system and lighting system for the project area; arrange 3 parks and green areas along the sidewalks of the road on the North bank; and increase green areas at appropriate locations on the South bank.

The contractor is focusing on clearing the site to begin construction.

The project implementation period is 6 years (2022 - 2027), from the central budget of 1,350 billion VND and the rest is invested by the local budget.

Contractors are speeding up construction at locations that are not blocked by land.

Currently, the project has implemented 2 construction packages at the beginning of the route with a total value of nearly 525 billion VND. The progress of the packages has reached about 64% of the value. Despite many difficulties in terms of land, the investor and contractors are making efforts and determination to gradually overcome difficulties and speed up the project progress.

Mr. Vuong Phu Dan, Chief Supervisor of Phase 2 (investor) said that since the Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee came to inspect the progress of the project, the Phase 2 bid package has been accelerated a lot. Specifically, the site has been handed over over 90%. In the sections where the site has been handed over, the investor and contractor have organized to speed up the construction progress. Currently, the contractor has simultaneously deployed at the locations where the site has been handed over. In the coming time, the investor will urge the contractor to focus on human resources and equipment, trying to complete all the piling work by August 31 at the sections where the site has been handed over. At the same time, the bid package will focus on constructing the concrete embankment wall and other items.

Mr. Dang Dinh Khai, technical officer of Hai Duong Embankment Construction & Rural Development Joint Stock Company (joint venture of phase 1 package) said that with the efforts of the investor and related parties, up to now, the package site only has a few locations that people still complain about. The construction unit has focused on materials, human resources, equipment and machinery to speed up the progress at the locations where the site has just been assigned. The unit will focus on overtime and increase shifts to soon complete and put the project into use.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hung, Hamlet 3B, Dao Thanh Ward, Dong Thap Province agreed and soon handed over the site to the construction unit. At the same time, he hoped that the project would be completed soon to facilitate people's travel.
