On May 29, the “For Vietnamese Stature” Fund and TH Group in collaboration with the Provincial Women's Union and the Bac Ha District Women's Union organized the launching ceremony of the project “Give a voice - more equality” in Thai Giang Pho commune.
The project aims to help local people identify and take concrete actions to eliminate gender stereotypes and gender stereotypes as well as protect themselves from violence, stigma and discrimination.
Thai Giang Pho is a disadvantaged commune of Bac Ha district with 502 households, of which 73.82% are poor. In many families in the commune, gender inequality still exists in the division of labor and decision-making; many women lack knowledge about the market, management skills and finance; some people still have the mindset of letting children drop out of school and work early...
Faced with the above situation, since the beginning of the year, the "For Vietnamese Stature" Fund and TH Group have coordinated with the Provincial Women's Union and the Bac Ha District Women's Union to conduct a survey and select Thai Giang Pho to implement the project "Contributing voices - more equality".
The project is implemented with a number of main activities such as: Training for women on household livelihood improvement models; training on gender equality and children's rights in relation to family economic development and for the best interests of children; training for children on children's rights, prevention of child marriage, school dropout and early labor...
At the ceremony, the units awarded 15 loan support packages to 15 women members in difficult circumstances, vulnerable women in society who want to improve their livelihoods and promote gender equality, with a total value of 150 million VND, 0% interest rate/month, loan term of 1 year from the date of receiving capital .
