16,000 soldiers marched in the pouring rain

More than 16,000 soldiers and police maintained high discipline during a general training session to prepare for the National Day parade on September 2 despite pouring rain.

On the morning of August 16, at the National Military Training Center 4 (Hanoi), General Phan Van Giang, Minister of National Defense , chaired a comprehensive inspection of the training of the parade force in the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2 (task A80).

At the training session, General Phan Van Giang, Minister of National Defense, required the units to practice in all weather conditions. If they stop practicing just because of rain, it will affect the results.

"In 1985, I practiced the parade to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the founding of the country with heavy rain like this many times. If it rains on the National Day parade, we still have to go well, not because of the weather conditions," General Phan Van Giang emphasized.
