MU lost nearly 100 million pounds for the cases of Hojlund and Antony.

According to The Athletic , the two deals of Antony and Hojlund alone caused MU to record a loss of up to 92 million pounds - an alarming figure regarding the transfer spending policy of the Old Trafford club.

Antony has been on Ruben Amorim's transfer list since the start of the summer. The Brazilian cost the Red Devils £82m in 2022, but is now considered one of the most lopsided deals in Premier League history.

Despite being one of the most expensive new signings, Antony only scored 5 goals in the Premier League. After many weeks of negotiations, MU finally agreed to sell Antony to Betis for a starting fee of 19 million pounds, with 3 million pounds in additional fees.

Hojlund moved to Napoli after failing at MU.

Meanwhile, Hojlund was also sold when MU recruited Benjamin Sesko for £74 million. The Danish striker wanted to stay at Old Trafford and compete for a starting position, but after being repeatedly left out of the squad, he accepted that his career at MU was over.

Hojlund moved to Napoli on loan for around £5m, with a £38m option to buy next summer if the Serie A side qualify for the Champions League. United spent £72m on Hojlund, but the player had a disappointing time, scoring just four Premier League goals last season.

In addition, MU also reached an agreement to loan Jadon Sancho to Aston Villa on the last day of the transfer window. Another notable case is Kobbie Mainoo. The young player requested to leave on loan last week, but MU did not allow it.
