Vietnamese football fans received shocking news on the afternoon of August 12 when three members of the HAGL Club passed away in a traffic accident. The deceased were deputy coach of the first team Duong Minh Ninh, doctor Dao Trong Tri and player Paollo Madeira Oliveira.
Coach Duong Minh Ninh is considered a hero of HAGL Club. He has been with this team for over 20 years, from the role of player to coaching.
In 2002 - when Mr. Duc took over the HAGL Club, Duong Minh Ninh was then a striker for the mountain town team. He played alongside rookie Kiatisak Senamuang on the attack line and helped the team win the runner-up position in the First Division, along with a place to play in the V-League.
In the 2003 and 2004 seasons, HAGL won consecutive championships with a golden squad, in which the key players were Thai stars Kiatisak, Tawan Sripan, Dusit Chalermsan, Chukiat Noosarung. Striker Duong Minh Ninh mainly played a supporting role.
Coach Duong Minh Ninh contributed to training the generation of Cong Phuong, Tuan Anh, Xuan Truong.
From the 2003 season, Mr. Duong Minh Ninh decided to retire to coaching. In 2007, when Mr. Duc opened the HAGL - Arsenal JMG academy, Mr. Duong Minh Ninh became assistant to coach Guilaumme Graechen.
He contributed to training the generation of Cong Phuong, Tuan Anh, Van Toan, Xuan Truong,... Besides being in charge of youth coaching, he was also included in the first team coaching staff by the board of directors.
At the end of the 2017 season, Coach Duong Minh Ninh took over the role of leading HAGL Club. In the 2019 season, after a poor start, he resigned and became an assistant to Coach Lee Tae-hoon. Mr. Duong Minh Ninh continued to be a member of the HAGL coaching staff under Coach Kiatisak Senamuang. In total, this coach has been with the mountain town team for more than 20 years.
Coach Duong Minh Ninh has twice participated in the coaching staff of the Vietnam national team under coaches Nguyen Huu Thang and Park Hang Seo.
Meanwhile, striker Paollo Madeira moved to HAGL at the beginning of the 2023 season. He played 16 matches and scored 6 goals. Paollo played for another Vietnamese team, Ha Tinh Club, in the 2022 season.
The Brazilian player scored 8 goals and contributed greatly to the team's journey to stay in the league. Before coming to Vietnam, Paollo played in the lower divisions of Portugal for Quarteirense, Imortal and Farense.
