3 first team players' contracts expired and were not renewed by MU. |
MU sent a list of players leaving Old Trafford to the Premier League after the 2024/25 season ended in accordance with regulations. "Christian Eriksen, Jonny Evans and Victor Lindelof are among the players leaving due to the end of their contracts," MU's announcement said.
Eriksen scored in his final game for United, with a successful penalty in the 2-0 win over Aston Villa at Old Trafford last month, marking his 108th appearance for Manchester United.
Victor Lindelof and Jonny Evans also featured in this match, taking their total appearances to 284 and 241 respectively.
Lindelof ends an eight-year United career, winning the FA Cup and League Cup, while Evans leaves with an impressive trophy haul in two spells at United, having made his first-team debut as an academy player in 2007.
Evans won three Premier League titles, a Champions League, a FIFA Club World Cup and a League Cup, before returning in 2023 and winning the FA Cup with the club after a 2-1 win over Manchester City in the 2023/24 final.
Tom Heaton is also on the free transfer list, but the club is still negotiating a new contract with the goalkeeper. MU's homepage wrote: "Heaton will continue to be with the team in the 2025/26 season."
MU's squad promises to continue to have many changes in the summer of 2025. Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho and Antony are all on the list that can be liquidated to help MU cover transfer costs.
