4 destinations to see autumn in Vietnam

Mu Cang Chai, Ha Giang , Kon Tum, Ninh Binh bring visitors impressive atmosphere and colors of autumn in Vietnam.

According to Booking’s 2024 Travel Trends Report, 57% of Vietnamese travelers are looking for more nature-based travel experiences this year. 60% said natural beauty is an important factor influencing their decision to choose a travel destination.

Based on the above trend, on September 20, Booking suggested 4 destinations for tourists to consider if they want to admire Vietnam's autumn. The selection criteria are based on searches, comments, and compliments from tourists and experts of the application. The destinations selected for introduction are small areas, not too noisy and crowded, with cool climates, natural landscapes with typical autumn colors that make tourists "satisfy their eyes". Therefore, big cities such as Hanoi , Da Nang or Ho Chi Minh City are not on this list.

Mu Cang Chai, Yen Bai

According to experts at Booking, Mu Cang Chai famous to domestic and foreign tourists for its vast rice fields. Visiting Mu Cang Chai in autumn is considered a "eye-catching experience". The golden ripe rice fields stretch out, undulating along the hillsides, creating an overwhelming scene. The best time to visit this place is from September to October.

Ha Giang

"The winding roads in Ha Giang with majestic mountains will take visitors to an attractive journey", the application commented.

Tourists can visit traditional local villages, admire the majesty of the limestone terrain and experience the culture of the Hmong people.

From September, local festivals associated with cultural identity begin to be held, such as the Khen Mong Festival and the Tam Giac Mach Festival. Visitors can immerse themselves in the golden autumn colors and participate in the activities of the local people.

Kon Tum

Kon Tum City in Kon Tum Province is described by many tourists as a place where mountains, forests and waterfalls meet. In addition to visiting the cathedral and experiencing local cuisine, visitors can enjoy the Vietnamese autumn atmosphere while hiking in Kon Chu Rong National Park. Visiting Dak Doa Lake is also a suggestion for an autumn itinerary.

Ninh Binh

Ninh Binh is described by Booking as having a picturesque landscape with rivers and mountains. Coming here in the fall, visitors can explore trekking routes, cycling to see ripe rice through the village roads. Climbing to the top of Hang Mua, visitors can see the whole view of Trang An complex below, the ripe rice fields and limestone mountains.
