President Vladimir Putin has visited Vietnam four times, and will soon visit Vietnam for the fifth time at the invitation of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

At the invitation of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, Russian President Vladimir Putin paid a state visit to Vietnam on June 19 and 20. President Putin's visit to Vietnam coincides with the 30th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty on the Basic Principles of Vietnam-Russia Friendship (June 16, 1994 - June 16, 2024). This document creates a premise for strengthening cooperation, bringing Russia-Vietnam relations to the level of Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. The upcoming visit is also an occasion to celebrate many important milestones in the relationship between the two countries.
